The senior class students and advisors will have pre-order forms available for the first senior class yearbook since class of 1981. Or the pre-order informational letter is available at this link: Yearbook Order Form  Alumni class groups: consider an ad in the yearbook or congratulatory message to the senior class. After a 2-1/2 year effort, this major scholarship fundraising effort has come to an end IN ITS CURRENT FORMAT. Each of the donors listed below in the feature article will be designated as our Charter Members of FMLG with names and class year inscribed on a bronze plaque to be displayed permanently at the school. However, alumni are still encouraged to support the Shortridge Legacy Scholarship fund as General Members as we continue to fundraise for scholarship dollars for future Shortridge graduates. Five years' membership in the Shortridge Alumni Association will remain for donors of $500 or more and smaller donations will be acknowledged on an ongoing basis with tiered-level recognition in this newsletter and on our website.
The Shortridge Alumni Association (Scholarship Committee) will launch two distinct scholarships for seniors to consider:
The Legacy Scholarship - a merit scholarship for up to $5,000 for students who apply with an academic GPA of 3.5 or above. Up to two (2) students may receive this scholarship based on above-level academic achievements and other criteria established by the alumni association.
The Senior Achievement Scholarship - for students with a GPA of 2.5 or above, who have achieved excellence through participation in music, sports, science, language arts and/or civic activities. Up to 10 scholarships may be awarded valued at $500 each.
Application packets for both scholarships will be available in early January through the Guidance office. The SAA Scholarship Committee will lead the selection and student interview process. Alumni interested in volunteering to work with this committee should send email to:
The moot courtroom will have an official name in honor of Justice William McAnulty, Class of 1965, who passed in 2007. Full details will be forthcoming to recognize him and additional Shortridge alumni who have achieved to the ranks of elected/appointed justices.
The HoF committee will reconvene to examine the biographies of seven candidates for induction into the Shortridge Hall of Fame, which will be announced in Spring 2013.

 Founding Members Legacy Guild
December 31, 2012, was your last opportunity to have your or a loved one's name listed as a Charter Member of Founding Members Legacy Guild. Donations to this restricted fund are a source for scholarships that will be awarded to deserving students who may be from the first graduating class in 2013. Names of Charter Members will be  inscribed on a bronze plaque that will be permanently displayed along the main corridor of the school and on our website,
A General Members listing of the Shortridge Legacy Scholarship Fund donors will begin in February 2013. This recognition of donors will be displayed in a tiered-level format, similar to the SAAB listing of supporters, and displayed here in NewsBriefs and on our website.. Therefore, kindly consider any level of donations to add to the scholarship fund. Donors of $500 or more will continue to receive five years' membership in the alumni association, Consider these options:
  • Did your class reunion make "extra" money you would like to donate toward scholarships?
  • This also may be a way to honor a Shortridge graduate family member posthumously.
  • Does your company have a Matching-Gift program? As the SAA is a 501(c)(3) non-exempt organization, your donation may qualify for a matching gift program, Consult with your company's program administrators.
  • Donations to  this and other ongoing projects can now be made on our website, on the Donations tab via PayPal or major credit card.

Your donation to the scholarship fund or other projects may qualify as a tax-deductible contribution. Consult with your tax advisor. Make checks payable to: Shortridge Legacy Scholarship Fund mail c/o 5030 Guion Road, Indianapolis, IN 46254.
