Premier Lighting Case Study: Custom Church LED Lighting
|
|
Customer Profile:
For over 150 years, St. Michael Catholic Church has been serving the St. Michael, MN area with an orthodox faith centered on prayer, service and Sacramental life.
Goal:
St. Michael Catholic Church was looking for a new LED lighting solution that would result in energy and maintenance savings while maintaining or bettering their sanctuary's light output.
Assessment:
The sanctuary lighting was comprised of high watt incandescent bulbs. 500 Watt PAR56 lamps were being used in the sanctuary cans and spotlights. The sanctuary low ceiling cans and tracklights were outfit with 250W PAR and 85W PAR bulbs respectively. These provided a fair amount of light but were very inefficient. To compound matters they did not last long and were difficult to replace, particularly the PAR56 lamps high up.

That Light Bulb Cost How Much?
| |
In our recent blog Commercial Grade vs. Residential Grade Lighting Products, we mentioned that we often get our prices compared to the big box stores. In that article we discussed the difference between residential and commercial grade product and to sum it up, you get what you pay for. But for those who still are concerned about the upfront cost only or at least what you might think is the upfront cost, this article is for you:
One fine Tuesday morning, the maintenance technician, Joe Handyman, is walking down the hallway to his office and sees a light bulb out. He could call his commercial grade lighting distributor and get one sent to him for a price of $2.50/each, but Joe saw an ad for that item from a big box store recently for $1.99/each. In order to "save his company money" he decides to go pick one up.
How much does it really cost to change a light bulb?

New Product Intro
| | High Ceiling Church LED Lighting Solution
Anyone familiar with sanctuary lighting at a church is aware of the variables that can make it a tough application. Accessing the lighting high above is not only difficult but a tenuous situation for maintenance personnel. Gigantic lifts need to be hauled in and many times even the pews need to be moved. This takes time and in turn more money. On top of that, lighting maintenance at churches is often done by volunteers who may be limited in availability and/or skill.
This is where commercial grade light bulbs with a long-life span provide extra value.
