LED's Make Big Splash in Swimming Pool Lighting Retrofit
The Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomington contacted Premier Lighting with a request to upgrade the lighting in the pool area. They wanted to improve the overall light quality and reduce the energy usage. The existing lighting utilized twenty (20) 100 watt Metal Halide Fixtures that were expensive to maintain. Premier Lighting proposed using a 15 Watt, LED fixture, rated for wet locations that has an expected life of 5-10 times longer than their current fixture.
As is the objective with most lighting retrofit upgrade projects, the results accomplish the project goals, of better aesthetics with a less intrusive light fixture and improved light quality with better light distribution (see before and after pictures below). The LED fixtures will save $1,000.00 a year in energy costs, and the project will be paid back in 1.5 years.
Before - 100 Watt Metal Halide Fixtures
After - 15 Watt LED Fixtures
