Flips Gym installs Induction Lighting System
When Flips Gymnastics in White Bear Lake, MN was first approached by Premier Lighting about retrofitting their metal halide fixtures to energy-saving light fixtures they were intrigued by the idea of saving in energy costs, but they were more interested in maintenance savings. Being a gymnastics facility the light fixtures are located over mats, and equipment that is not easy to work around. After consulting with Flips it was determined that they wanted to keep the look of the HID fixture they currently had, improve the light levels, save energy and most importantly they didn't want to worry about changing a light bulb anytime soon.

Given all of those requirements Premier Lighting came up with a solution that took care of everything they asked for. An Induction Lighting Retrofit. Induction Lighting has several characteristics that make it more favorable than metal halides lamps, they are instant on, more durable, better lumen maintenance, along with longer life resulting in less maintenance.
After
The Induction system that was recommended allowed for the same look of the fixtures, a 50% energy reduction, a 30% light level improvement and the key to the whole project- a 100,000 hour life rating. That gives Flips Gymnastics a more efficient lighting system that lasts 5-10 times longer than what they were getting out of their old lighting system.
