Cattlemen Offer Up to $10,000 Reward for Arson Case in Craig County

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA., JANUARY 29 - A local rancher and member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association lost a barn that housed a total of 3000 square bales, 75 round bales and a tractor due to fire. The fire was discovered at 4 a.m., Jan. 21 and is believed to be arson. The barn is located approximately nine miles west of Welch, Okla.

According to Richard Gebhart, President of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association, "This is a complete outrage. Operating expenses such as hay and equipment are huge investments and vital to ranchers, not only to conduct business, but to their livelihood. Our Association is issuing up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous arson crime."

If you have information that may be helpful please contact the Craig County Sheriff's Office at 918.256.6102 or the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Investigative Services at 405.522.6102.
