OCA Range Round-Up Next Week

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, AUGUST 19, 2013 - The 29th Annual Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association's Range Round-Up takes place this weekend at the State Fair Arena. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m on Friday, Aug. 23 and Saturday, Aug. 24. Tickets can be bought at the door or reserved early by calling 405-948-6800 or visiting Doors open at 6:00 p.m. to allow time for attendees to visit the trade show.

Twelve teams consisting of 17 ranches of 'real ranch' cowboys will compete in the 29th Annual OCA Range Round-Up. These cowboys will take bumps and bruises for audience entertainment and very little recognition. For 29 years, the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association has partnered with Ford as the presenting sponsor of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Range Round-Up. In that time, more than $420,000 has been raised to help children.

"Some call the event, 'Cowboys Helping Kids'. For the past 15 years, the selected charity has been the Children's Miracle Network, supporting Children's Medical Research Institute," said Tim Drummond, OCA Range Round-Up Chairman. "We are proud of this event," Drummond continued, "And we appreciate the ranches, sponsors, fans, and volunteers who help us with this important mission."

This year's completing ranches include: Alfalfa County Land & Cattle, Cherokee, Okla; Buford Ranches, LLC, Welch, Okla.; Davison & Sons Cattle Co., Arnett, Okla.; Drummond Land & Cattle Co., Pawhuska, Okla; Gray G Bar Ranch, Grainola, OK; Hall Ranch, Comanche, Okla, Daube Cattle Co., Ardmore, Okla.;  Hitch Ranch, Guymon, Okla.; Kottke Ranch, Lenapah, Okla.; Arrow W Ranch, Lenapah, Okla.; MCoy Ranch, Ada, Okla.; Beebe Livestock, Ada, Okla.; Pitchfork Land & Cattle, Waurika, Okla.; Rash Barrett Cattle, Ryan, Okla.; Sugarloaf Ranch, Duncan, Okla.; and 3C Cattle Co., Mill Creek, Okla.

Held in conjunction with the OCA Range Round-Up, a Working Ranch Horse competition will be held on Saturday morning at 9 a.m., Aug. 24 at the State Fair Arena. Anyone who would like to watch the working ranch horse competition is welcome to attend.

The OCA represents more than 5,500 Oklahoma ranching families. The OCA exists to support and defend the state and nation's beef cattle industry. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line.
