Frey Named All Around Junior Cattleman of the Year

Jaryn Frey of Kingfisher excels throughout year to earn prestigious honor

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, AUGUST 13, 2013 - Jaryn Frey, Kingfisher, Okla. was named the 2013 All- Around Junior Cattlemen of the Year. This award is the most prestigious award that the Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen's Association bestows upon one of its own. It was established to recognize OJCA members who participate and excel at OJCA events and livestock shows throughout the year.

A 4th Generation Angus breeder, Jaryn has grown up working on her family's ranch. The Frey family raises purebred Angus cattle with a focus on producing show heifers and quality bulls. Jaryn, 15, manages her own herd of about 35 head. It came natural to this young lady to begin showing cattle at a young age and has been competitive in the show ring on the local, state and national levels.

A sophomore at Kingfisher High School, Jaryn is active in FFA. She was a member of the state champion Opening Ceremonies team last year and a member of the state champion Agriculture Issues team. She was the captain of the state runner-up FFA Quiz Bowl team and a state qualifier with her animal science speech this past spring. She was a recipient of her Chapter FFA Star Greenhand Award. She is currently serving as Treasurer of the Oklahoma Junior Angus Association and on the OJCA Board of Directors.

One of Jaryn's goals is to be named Champion Intermediate Showman at the local and state levels. She is also working toward serving as OJCA President and serving as an Oklahoma Angus Queen. With the dedication that this young lady exhibits, she is sure to accomplish these goals and many others in the future.

Jaryn will receive a laptop computer and a custom Priefert Ranch sign, sponsored by Beacon Hill Ranch and Richard and Susan Gebhart. Jaryn is the daughter of Mike and Jamae Frey.
