Senator Mark Allen Honored by the OCA

MIDWEST CITY, OK, JULY 26, 2013 - Senator Mark Allen was presented the legislative appreciation award during the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Annual Awards Banquet.  The award was established to recognize elected officials who support Oklahoma agriculture and are loyal to Oklahoma cattlemen and their needs.

"We appreciate Senator Allen's respect for rural values and belief in preserving agricultural heritage.  He is an outstanding legislator who understands the importance of the beef industry in Oklahoma and we are proud to honor him with this award," said Richard Gebhart, OCA President.

Senator Allen was elected to the Oklahoma State Senate in November 2010. He represents Oklahoma Senate District 4 which is comprised of Sequoyah County and the northern half of LeFlore County.  He has served on the Agriculture and Rural Development, Energy, Insurance and Judiciary Committees, along with the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and Transportation; and as Vice Chairman of the Transportation, and Veterans and Military Affairs Committees.

Mark and his wife Nikki have been married 18 years. Except for the time spent serving his country, Mark has always lived in southeastern Oklahoma.

A staunch conservative, Mark Allen is also concerned about safeguarding traditional values, keeping our families and communities strong and ensuring that our natural resources benefit Oklahomans and create jobs in this state. Senator Allen is a Lifetime NRA Member and a Life Member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
