2014 - 1st Quarter Report

EddieZ

I finally got my health back it seems, though not entirely 100% yet.

This past February marked 4 years doing algorithmic trading and we have absolutely crushed it with the previous 4 hving been newsletter recommendations that avoided the 2008 crash as well as getting in just after the start of the 2009 bullish run. There were some great times, some not so great times, and a lot of interesting moments with government intervention, but overall everything went according to plan...well almost.

After reviewing 2010, then 2011 through 2013 I realized that we did not meet expectations to 2010's results.  The reason was once we hit a critical return, I basically locked in profits.  In other words, we could have done much better--but I wanted to really try and sell our algorithm.  We met with several different groups and though we couldn't work out terms, the result was still the same, we were beating the S&P, but the market is very resilient at the moment and everyone seems to be doing great, so why venture with an algorithm when the market is up 1200 points from its low in 2009?

It seems that this market has been a real blessing and yet been very difficult at times.  The system is designed to keep up with the S&P and in bad times to really out perform--well, we haven't had too many bad times in the last five years.  The FED has really put a floor under stocks and has literally forced everyone into stocks to get a decent return.

Most financial firms feel stocks are fairly priced, if not reaching over valuations, but just like the tech boom and the housing boom, prices can go higher.

With that said, we will continue the course.  Though we have had personal account openings, I still believe a main Trizen main fund can return a staggering number (a corporate account versus a personal account running Trizen algorithms).  With that said, I am going to start pushing the system to its max and I wanted everyone to be prepared.  This system has a beta of 1-2 most of the time, but we can push to 4.  This means if the market moves 1% in a day, we would move 4%.

Making 15% is great, but making 40% is much better.  Can we do this every year--no, but we can really get this system going and reach some goals that I believe we can hit.  I will discuss more of this in the next newsletter but so far things have been really good, but thing will be even better as I focus on pushing the system to its max and that is what I intend to do.

In the next newsletter I will discuss a new strategy that will replace the out dated short strategy we utilized in 2010.  I will also discuss the numbers we can achieve with a Trizen fund (and personal accounts too) and report more on the market action.

Sincerely,

Edward Zaremba
