Message from the President

Dear Chamber Members,

One of the primary goals of the Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce is to help foster the growth of our members' businesses.  One of the many ways we aim to achieve this is by providing our membership with the opportunity to engage in meaningful networking opportunities.  As many of you hopefully know, when you attend a Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce event, whether it is a business after hours, a breakfast or a special event, you will not get lost in a crowd of strangers. Instead, you will more than likely be greeted by familiar faces and have the opportunity to engage in a productive conversation with someone you may have done business with in the past, someone who you are currently doing business with, or somebody who you may have an interest in doing business with in the future.

Choosing to sponsor one of the many Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce events is an excellent way to raise the visibility of your business and support the Chamber.  Without the generous support of our sponsors many of our events would not be possible.  However, your attendance at our events is also vital to the Chamber's success and not only adds value to your membership, but it also adds value for your fellow members.

As you will see in this issue of the Chamberline, we have some great events coming up in the near future, I hope you can attend at least one - or more.

Sincerely,
Sean M. Kemp

News from the Village of Rhinebeck

Press Release: 9/5/14
RE: Trash Receptacles

Please be aware that we are transitioning from the pole mounted waste receptacles throughout the Village to the Big Belly Solar Trash and Recycling receptacles. There are currently 4 units located within the Village center with 3 additional units to be installed in the next few weeks. These big belly units are capable of handling a much larger volume of trash in an environmentally sound manner and will eliminate the need for the smaller baskets that are quickly filled during periods of busier activity in the Village Center.

We are aware of the problem of overflowing baskets on weekends in the Village and hope that the installation of the additional big belly units will eliminate this problem.

Please help us during this period of transition by directing visitors to the big belly locations for the disposal of trash. In addition, our three parks will be transitioned to "carry-in, carry-out" locations.

Legion Park at Crystal Lake is already maintained in this fashion and the baskets at the Lion's Club Mini-Park and the Rockefeller Lane Park at Crystal Lake will be removed.

Thank you for your cooperation during this period of transition and for helping to keep the Village of Rhinebeck beautiful and litter free.

Mayor
