Message from the President

Dear Chamber Members,

The Dutchess County Fair is here, which signifies for many of us, the end of summer and the opportunity to get back into a little bit more of a routine, that enables us to focus on our businesses with a new refreshed outlook.

For the Chamber, this when we begin to prepare for our most celebrated event, Cocktails at Sunset.

Last year, many of you may recall, we had the largest attendance ever and a great time was had by all.  We are currently in the midst of planning what promises to be yet another special event - and we look forward to seeing each and every one of you there.  Please be sure to keep your eyes open for materials regarding the date, time and place for this year's event, as well as sponsorship opportunities.  Also, remember that Cocktails at Sunset is open to the public and is in support of our holiday lighting project. So, please help to spread the word to everyone you know who would like to support our holiday lighting, which decorates the Village of Rhinebeck throughout the season.

I hope everyone enjoys the remainder of the summer and I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming Chamber event.

Sincerely,
Sean Kemp

See you at the Dutchess County Fair

Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union has again been named a Fit Friendly Workplace by the American Heart Association. Recognized companies have demonstrated their programs offer staff physical activity support, increased healthy eating options at work, and physical, nutritional and cultural activities to improve their personal wellness.

"Studies have proven that wellness works," said Diane Allenbaugh, HVFCU's Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development. "Supporting a physical activity program in the workplace can increase productivity, reduce absenteeism and turnover, as well as reduce healthcare costs."  One example of HVFCU's commitment to wellness is the walking trail at each office that has been marked off for staff in the past year.  Through staff contests and walking challenges, the credit union helps to promote benefits of added physical activity to the workday, even in small doses.

HVFCU is a full service, not-for-profit financial cooperative for individuals and businesses, offering real estate and consumer loans, savings and transactional accounts, investment services, property and casualty insurance, estate planning, and trust services. With more than $3.9 billion in assets, HVFCU serves its more than 287,000 members through branches in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster Counties, a nationwide network of 77,000+ surcharge-free ATMs, Internet Banking, Mobile & Text Banking, online bill payment, and 24-hour account access by telephone. HVFCU is federally insured by the NCUA and is an Equal Housing Lender. For more information, visit hvfcu.org.

The CENTER for Performing Arts has received $3,000 from Arts Mid Hudson to provide quality programming for the region, one of ten organizations to receive such an award (total amount available was $30,0000).
