Usman Shafique
Automation Engineer - Encryption/Security
Usman Shafique

As a leader in secure mail and data solutions, this company has proven data-centric encryption and tokenization technology that protects the most sensitive information wherever it is: in the cloud, across mobile platforms, in big data environments, or within legacy computer systems. The Director of Engineering at Voltage tapped Redfish Technology for help in finding an automation engineer for the mobile mail product team. The search was started for an experienced automation engineer to work in a small company environment to deliver mobile mail automated applications and test across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated to work with a creative team in an Agile/Scrum environment, embrace learning new technologies, and solve complex problems.

Usman Shafique has specialized in security technology for the last five years, with a focus on software testing and quality assurance. His most recent position was dedicated to automated testing and he led a small team to design automation frameworks for UI and API testing. He worked extensively with Python and the Robot Framework and is experienced in Waterfall/Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA Methodologies and Strategies including black-box, grey-box, API testing, functional, integration, and regression testing. Usman earned a Master of Science in Software Engineering and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He is highly efficient, as well as creative and passionate about his work. And Usman's track-record at delivering high-quality software products is excellent. A match well made!

WHAT A RECRUITER LOOKS FOR WHEN READING YOUR RESUME

By Jon Piggins, Executive Recruiter, IT Sales & Marketing Jon Piggins, IT Recruiter - Sales & Marketing

While I do not look through all of the 3M resumes that Google receives every year, my day often starts with resume review. I search our company database, various job boards, LinkedIn, etc; and just one search may bring back hundreds of resumes. For example, this morning 293 new or updated resumes came up, and out of those I only downloaded three.

Pundits say that your resume gets between 6 and 15 seconds of attention. So what I am and other recruiters looking for in those
precious seconds? ... Red Arrow
THE PROPER CARE AND FEEDING OF MILLENNIALS

Millennials in the Workforce Millennials

It's a candidate's market with low-tech unemployment and companies battling it out over the same employee pool in many areas. The Millennials have come of age and their skills are in high demand. Tech turnover is exacerbated by the competition in the market, and this is more acute when it comes to Millennials who are reportedly changing jobs every 2.3 years. This employee turnover has serious cost implications (The Saratoga Institute puts the expense at 150% of the annual salary for a given position). Employers need to build this cost into their staffing planning.

What do they want... ?
WHY SHOULD EMPLOYERS BOTHER WITH SOCIAL MEDIA?
    Social Media
By now your company probably has 3 or more social media accounts, and it has for some time. It is not always apparent why besides the fact that all your consultants and marketers said you should, and all your competitors do.

Metrics
Knowing what the right metrics are and how to measure success is another challenge. If Coca Cola has 91 million likes/followers on their Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter page, and your competitor has 486: Which should be the benchmark for your company? And are views more important than click-throughs? According to AdAge, the correlation between that click and a conversion is virtually nonexistent. Ug, that's no help!

SM Venues
And deciding which social media venues should get your attention also takes some thought and testing. Recruiting companies obviously should be on LinkedIn, and while there's a lot of hype around social recruiting, Facebook may not be the next best choice. For retailers the opposite may be true. It is partially a sector fit, and partially a company culture fit. Test it out.

TECH TRENDS: CYBER CRIME & INTERNET/EMAIL SECURITY COSTS & SOLUTIONS
  Internet Security
The average cost for each lost or stolen record with sensitive or confidential information as grown from $201 to $217, and the average cost paid by companies located in the U.S. has gone from $5.9 million to $6.5 million according to the tenth annual 2015 Cost of Data Breach Study, conducted by Ponemon Institute and sponsored by IBM. That is an 11% increase in the total cost of data breach, and there has been an 8% increase in the cost per lost or stolen record. 49% of data breach incidents are malicious or criminal attacks, 19% caused by negligent employees, and 32% result from glitches.

CROWDFUNDING TO DOUBLE: THE INDUSTRY IS BOOMING, CREATING JOBS, LEVERAGING SALES

Crowd funding
The crowdfunding industry is booming.  More than 1,250 online platforms worldwide raising $16.2 billion last year, up 167% from 2013, according to crowdfunding research firm Massolution. And global crowdfunding is projected to reach $33-34 billion in 2015, with $6 billion of that in the US, double that of last year.

The benefits to companies go beyond the actual funds raised through the revenues that are crowd funded; there is a marketing benefit that translates into sales. Crowdfunded companies (via rewards, equity or debt) increased quarterly revenues by an average of 24% post crowdfunding; and equity-based crowdfunding companies increased revenue by 351%. Companies with a prototype can take advantage of crowdfunding to find out about the market response; providing entrepreneurs with an opportunity to test out and develop a customer base early on. This makes for a very different conversation with angle investors.
