REDFISH OPENS OFFICE IN COSTA RICA

Redfish Technology, Inc. (NYSE:RED), a leading nationwide recruiting company focused on the high tech sectors, announced today that it has opened an office in Costa Rica. This new focus marks Redfish's second expansion into international territory.

The Costa Rican tech sector experienced a boom when Intel, Infosys and Hewlett Packard moved in. A lively high-tech cluster has evolved with the influx of smaller firms, and a very talented pool of highly educated talent has grown there. The Costa Rican government maintains a pro-U.S. stance and aims to attract high-tech corporations to take advantage of Central America's most educated, computer literate and disciplined workforce; many Forbes 500 companies operate out of Costa Rica.

The synergies of Redfish's tech talent matchmaking and a growing tech sector in Costa Rica were the subject of discussion between Rob Reeves, CEO of Redfish Technology and Luis Guillermo Solís, who will be sworn in as president on May 8th. Mr. Solís has promised an international campaign to promote Costa Rica as an investment destination, highlighting its political stability and flourishing tech sector.

The chance meeting between president-elect Solís and Redfish CEO Reeves must have been fated. The encounter started when Mr. Solís and the Reeves family collided during a visit to the pristine Costa Rican rainforest on one of the infamous zip line tours. After regaining their bearings over a cup of Café Rica, the ensuing conversation proved more fecund than the surrounding greenery.

After a meeting of the minds, and a quick consultation with the staff back in Sun Valley, the decision was made. Mr. Reeves has announced that in order to best bridge the Silicon Valley of Latin America and North American tech hubs the recruiting company currently serves, that Redfish has opened a new office.

"We chose to locate our newest office in Santa Ana, just outside of San José, because of the incredible growth of the economy here. The city is being transformed from coffee, bananas and cattle to microprocessor production and high-tech telecommunications services," stated Reeves. "The local tech companies are innovative and growing aggressively, and they still have fantastic coffee."

Pura Vida

"It's been an amazing spring break and honestly we weren't ready to leave. So like we did in the 90s when we opened an office in San Carlos, Mexico - we are staying put and recruiting in Santa Ana," reported Heidi Clark, Chief Humanities Officer of Redfish Technology. "We have asked veteran recruiter and traveler, Meredith Dean to head up relocating current Sun Valley staff to the Santa Ana office, and we will be hiring locally. Pura Vida!"

SIX RECENT RESUME MISTAKES

Stumble, Bobble, Snafu, Fumble, Clanger, Howler

By Rob Reeves, Executive Tech Recruiter

   Rob Reeves

On an average day, I read about 100-200 resumes. Some are amazing, most are adequate, and some go down in flames. When you make mistakes on your resume, you are seriously inhibiting your career options. Here are some resume boo-boos I've seen recently - don't make these!

1. Stumble - Infographic resume!

If you are such a rock star designer that you figure your gorgeous infographic resume is all you need and you would never stoop to creating a rote, insipid text resume, well oops. Many companies use an ATS or CRM of some sort, and even if they don't, their recruiter likely does. Infographic or other non-standard formats can't be read by most ATS/CRMs and so your resume could get missed entirely in many searches. While the infographic may seal the deal, there's no deal to speak of if you aren't identified from the start. So have the mundane word document ready along with the extraordinary visual resume.

2. Bobble - View my resume online

Professionals must have a Word resume along with their LinkedIn or optionally other online resume. Whether you start online or with a word processing document to create one and then the other, you just plain need both! If the text description doesn't fly on LinkedIn (i.e. make a shining professional impression for the world to see), you probably should amend the word processing version too. Why do you need both? Again, ATS/CRM. As well, it is easier for many reviewers to save and refer to a word document. And it is more polite than telling someone to follow a link (unless it leads to your amazing complementary video presentation). People will not take the time to convert your online resume into something the database will read, and they may not take the time to request a Word version, so make it easy for them.

6 REASONS TO HIRE NOW!

It's true you are saving on payroll and employer costs, insurance and perks, but these short-term gains effect a larger cost on long-term profitability, and can create unanticipated risks.

Making your necessary hire in a timely manner will:

1. Boost Productivity

When shorthanded organizations strain existing resources and quality suffers. If overly strained, attention to detail and pride in work decrease, errors, illness, and accidents are more likely, factors which significantly affect productivity.

2. Decrease Time to Market

Whether it is getting a new health gadget into consumer' hands, or releasing the new version of your software, understaffing is going to impact project management and coordination, it risks delaying production and subpar quality, and can cause costly missed opportunities.

TECH TRENDS: SECURITY
Right on Target!

Data Target

Data Security is a billion dollar issue. There's never a shortage of date breaches and compromises, hacks and mistakes in the news. As technology permeates every nook and cranny of our lives, and devices become further interconnected, and more and more data about every aspect of consumers is stockpiled, the risks of that data being exploited malevolently multiply.

Web business have been especially hard-hit: Ebay was hacked and had 145,000,000 records stolen this year, apparently login credentials obtained from some employees were used to access and copy a large number of records from the user database. Hackers got 50,000,000 records from Living Social and Evernote each. AOL has been hacked twice and once accidentally published user data, in all over the decade+ consumer records of over 100,000,000 users has been compromised.

Financial institutions are at risk, as evidenced by the recent hack at JP Morgan Chase in which 76,000,000 account holders had their personal information stolen. The hack began in June but wasn't discovered until July. Even the NASDAQ and the European Central Bank got hacked last year.

REDFISH ROCKS OUT AT
THE SHARE YOUR HEART BALL

It was another rocking great time with inspiring people All Paddles High Fishsharing fabulous stories. The community really comes out to support Camp Rainbow Gold, the oncology youth camp. Redfish Technology made a strong showing this year with a company 12-top table. The fishes tried their hand at the wine ring toss, sent up pine cone prayers, and not-so-quietly bid at the great variety of silent auction items. RECRUITING, STAFFING & EMPLOYMENT NEWS

Jobs Growth Positive but Disappointing

This March jobs report was the weakest since December 2013 and disappointed analysts. Professional and business services, health care, and retail trade continued to trend upwards. Redfish saw strong tech hiring in sectors like: Network Security, Gamification Collaboration Software, Communication & Collaboration Platform, Cloud Video Conferencing, App Security, Healthcare Platform, IT Infrastructure Solutions, and Software Development.

Moody's Analytics is predicting this expansion to be one of the longest in history while MarketWatch writes that the US economy "has slowed down by almost every measure except for perhaps the most crucial one: jobs."
