When it comes time to verify the technical skills of the candidates we work with, there are a variety of methods. There is the obvious, what type of degree did they obtain, what school did they go to, what honors or awards did they receive? Has a candidate continued their education through additional certifications or teaching themselves new languages? Are they actively writing applications because they are passionate and live and breathe programming? Are they active on GitHub or present in the app marketplace? What do their peers, managers, and direct reports have to say about them?

25 million resumes Everyone wants to cast their net wide and access all the best talent out there, but no one wants a tsunami of resumes flooding their desk and email inbox.

Many Hands Raised The marriage of technology and education is bringing about so many exciting opportunities in EdTech and eLearning. The increasingly affordable accessibility of devices and broadband is transforming the educational landscape and experience beyond anything we had as children. The possibilities are multiplying by the day and the goals are lofty.

Technology in education seeks to increase education mobility (only 5% of Americans whose parents didn't graduate college will complete a college degree), bring access to quality educational tools regardless of geography, roll out the common core efficiently, better prepare high school students for college, arm educators with more tools and resources, diversify the educational milieu and the corporate landscape, as well as other lofty and creative objectives.

The professional business fraternity at Idaho State University, the Delta Upsilon chapter, of Alpha Kappa Psi, will recognize Reeves at a dinner in Pocatello on Thursday, April 9. 

The award annually recognizes an Idaho business leader who has demonstrated outstanding business and professional ethics while contributing significant support to worthwhile community, civic and education activities. RECRUITER AND FORMER ECHL PLAYER MIKE CURRY PLAYS FOR THE IDAHO STEELHEADS

Friday Mike had to leave work early, coming into the office and setting up some final interviews before he headed out to the CenturyLink Arena to play for the Idaho Steelheads.

Curry took one shot on goal and lined up some quality shots for the Steelheads in his brief stint on ice Friday night. The 30-year-old Curry played one ECHL season in 2008-09 and had a four-year NCAA career at Minnesota-Duluth. He currently plays for the senior league club the Sun Valley Suns.

Thursday night Curry got a phone call from Steelheads coach Brad Ralph asking him to fill in in the first-place showdown with the Reign...Red Arrow

2015 Hiring Strong, But Top Priorities Often the Hardest to Recruit

The year has started strong with hiring for Sales Reps, Account Executive, Sales Specialist Leads Generation, Partner Development Manager, Senior Android Engineer, and Senior Web Developers. The most action was in the Cloud Hosting, eLearning, EdTech, K-12 Websites, and Mobile Application sectors.

Dice's January hiring report affirms that tech professionals are in high demand and are enjoying a market in which they can be very selective about the opportunities they pursue and they have the power to negotiate. Hardly coincidental, companies are finding it hardest to recruit their top choices to their top hiring priority positions. Dice's toughest to fill positions are: Software Developer/Engineers, Java professionals, .NET engineers, Security, and Sales roles.
