Omar Valle,
Account Executive - Cloud Channel Data Management
Omar Valle
Recruiting for a unique role for one of our key clients, the leader in channel data management for global technology companies, Redfish sought a passionate Account Executive to grow new business and increase revenue with existing accounts. The company is privately held and profitable with a great customer base and is currently in high growth mode. The company's cloud-based SaaS applications and managed services for multi-tier channel visibility seamlessly integrate with CRM and ERP systems such as Salesforce.com, SAP and Oracle. The VP of Client Services required someone with proven success in selling a complex cloud/SaaS based solution to enterprise level clients. The ideal hire would have a technical nature as well as a creative, strategic mindset; and he/she would be a dynamic, self-starter with a solid work ethic and drive who can fit into the company's collaborative, results-oriented work culture.

Omar Valle is an accomplished sales professional with over a decade of sales experience in retail, technology, and healthcare sectors specializing in SaaS Enterprise Software including CRM, service, marketing, and security. His experience includes tenure at Salesforce.com, and other Enterprise Cloud Computing and Computer & Network Security companies, where he developed extensive sales experience selling into Fortune Global 1000 companies, a deep technical background, and a passion for driving engagement at the C-level. In addition to his string of sales recognitions - "top producer', best channel account manager, most valuable Cisco channel security partner account manager - Omar has a plethora of additional sales training and industry and sales certifications. He has a degree from UC Berkeley in the Political Economies of Industrial Societies, which he attended on a Naval R.O.T.C. 4 year Scholarship, and he has was selected for U.S. Navy Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST). Omar knew and had recommended the company's products and was excited about an opportunity to join such a dynamic team with a top notch product suite. Omar's drive and ability meshed with the role and company, making for a fantastic fit.

"It was a pleasure working with Jon! He took the time to understand my skill set and experience and used it to find a very good fit for my talents. He was also very proactive and only reached out to me when he had good potential employer candidates. During the final negotiation process Jon went to bat for me and we ended up with a superior compensation package. I could not be happier."

WHAT'S THE LATEST EMERGING CODE YOUR NEW HIRE BETTER KNOW?
By Meredith Dean, Executive Recruiter, IT Division

Is Java the top code to know? C, C++, C# - ho hum. Python and Ruby are hot. What about R? Assembly, Scala or Shell? Picking a particular new "emerging" technology stack like Ruby on Rails, any of the MVC Javascript frameworks, Scala, or Solr, etc. means working with some cutting edge new coding.

But requiring the latest, emerging new code in terms of a hiring requirement definitely means that the talent pool available is going to be extremely small. And with quasi-fulltime employment, tech talent is already highly in-demand before you even start 'stacking' the technology deck against yourself.

Here's the thing. Software developers are at just 2.3% unemployment rate in Q2 2014. What might make your company's new technology most competitive is having a talented, motivated professional working on it and learning the newest code you want simultaneously. After all, if you are waiting for the perfect person with all the right bleeding-edge coding skills under his or her belt, you may be waiting a while. You will have to locate, woo, and then negotiate them out of another position. How far is your project advancing during this time?

And any recruiter worth their salt, has mad google x-ray search skills that will bring hither all kinds of rare talent finds.

Social recruiting is the buzzword of choice these days. Bullhorn Reach, Jobvite, Tweet a Job, Facebook apps for job searching. It is mind-numbing how many social networks exist and no one can be everywhere. So if everything is on the web, the résumé must be dead. Right?

50 WAYS TO QUIT YOUR EMPLOYER
(Sing to Paul Simon's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover)

"The job offer has arrived", my recruiter said to me
"The next steps then follow logically
I'd like to help you on some scenarios to foresee
There must be fifty ways to leave your employer"

She said, "It's my role to make this smooth
Furthermore, you should call me if there are any issues
But I'll repeat myself, to prepare for the interlude
You must give a letter of resignation to your employer
Two weeks' notice to your employer"

Just stay on track, Jack ... Red Arrow

... a Redfish bought a pedicure for the person in line after her at Chic. When we met back up with the owner, Kelly, she told us how touched she was by the Pay It Forward pedicure purchase. "The gal cried and said she didn't know that people still did this kind of thing in today's world." She was so moved throughout the pedicure and then she did the same thing and bought the next person's pedicure. "It went on for three days!"
