FEATURED PLACEMENT

Shawn Pearson,
Senior Web Developer & Growth Hacker - Cloud Data Sync

Redfish Technology was commissioned to find an outstanding Senior Web Developer & Growth Hacker for our client, a fast-growing Cloud Data Sync company. The company has created a platform that allows anyone to access all the cloud has to offer by backing up and syncing multiple computers and mobile devices with one click. A top 100 company on Inc.'s 500 list, the company has also been featured as top pick in PC Mag, TC, WSJ, C/NET and Gizmodo. Determined to offer the best product in this "hot" technological space, Redfish understood that the VP of Marketing wanted a design oriented web developer/growth hacker who would fit in the company's hot startup culture. The ideal candidate would possess a passion for conversion metrics and be capable of driving the implementation of the corporate web site, with input from Marketing and Product teams to develop a compelling web presence.

Shawn Pearson was recruited via network referral. His breadth and depth of experience in web development is very impressive. He is well versed in Teamsite, Semantic HTML/CSS best practices, AB Testing, tracking, MV* frameworks, single page web applications, and mobile website experiences. Driven and very well spoken, Shawn has mad programming and framework skills on multiple operating systems and a background in managing and team lead skills. He has extensive IT, network administration, server administration experience to boot. Shawn received his Bachelor of Science with a focus in Networking and Computer Graphics development from Cal State San Marcos. He was looking for an opportunity where he could become an integral part of the overall design and development strategy and get on a leadership track. And he enthusiastically embraced the chance to work for this highly heralded consumer cloud platform. It's a match made in the cloud!

"Logan was a huge part of why I am working here today.  He answered all my questions, kept me up to date throughout the process, and was genuinely interested in my opinions and desires of what I wanted my next job to be." - Shawn Pearson

WHAT DOES THE GOLD COLLAR WORKER WANT OUT OF EMPLOYMENT?

By Leah O'Flynn, Sales & Marketing Recruiter High Tech Leah O'Flynn

"They are a new breed of workers, and they demand a new kind of management. Intelligent, independent, and innovative, these employees are incredibly valuable. They are lawyers and computer programmers, stock analysts and community planners, editors and engineers..." (Per Wikipedia quote from Robert Kelly)

This a new breed of highly skilled multidisciplinary employee is clearly what drives intellectual capital companies, they bring the innovation, change the game, build companies to the IPO stage, and are the life-blood of the American economy. We hear over and over about the tech talent war, as these highly intelligent, educated and innovative people move around between successful companies. But what does it take to secure the loyalty of gold collar talent?

"Bottom line, for so-called "gold collar" workers, employers need to convince them of the value of spending their time / efforts on the employer. It's not just a job, it's a step in their career," says Chris Merritt, Director of Solution Marketing ... read onRed Arrow

Five Digital Marketing Trends to Watch in 2014 from Redfish

Digital marketing is the new black. It is everywhere. It's moving, changing, morphing, penetrating, here is what to watch for in 2014.

1. 78% of CMOs Can't be Wrong about Content!

The bulk of CMOs believe that custom content is the future of marketing.

Marketing has been departing from promotional sales information and further embracing the approach of delivering help and value to customers. The goal of engaging with prospects and the customer base is now predominantly content-centric.

As more brands take on the role of publisher and producer of branded content they are finding themselves becoming media companies. To feed the beast and continually produce content, the org chart needs more and more "editors" and "content __" roles.
As the top marketing priority, content strategy, production, and curation are taking a bigger and bigger chunk of the budget. Over half of many large companies' marketing departments are now responsible for content.

But content is a team sport... Red Arrow
CLEANTECH TRENDS
"Antenna Announces Top 10 Energy Technology Headline Grabbers for 2014"- Record-Breaking Solar Takes the Lead!

What are the leading energy technologies for 2014? Antenna Group has identified these top sectors to watch via dialogue with their clients, and analysts, media and other industry influencers.

Antenna Group, a Beckerman company, represents companies across sectors including renewable energy, energy efficiency, alternative fuels, energy storage, finance, waste management and water, and is the nation's largest energy technology communications firm.

You'll notice that solar leads the list - and rightfully so with the record-breaking year the sector has enjoyed. "Without a doubt, 2013 will go down as a record-shattering year for the U.S. solar industry," said Rhone Resch, CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association, as he announced results for the third quarter (Q3), per GreenBiz.com.

Residential solar showed the strongest growth, and largest increase ever with 186 MW installed, which is a 43% addition in installations in Q3 2013 over Q3 2012. New massive utility-scale solar plants also greatly added to solar capacity generating a 20% increase in Q3 over previous quarter, and a 35% increase over Q3 the previous year.

GETTING YOURSELF GEARED UP
FOR THE EXECUTIVE JOB HUNT

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects jobs for executives to increase only 5 percent through 2020. That's significantly lower than the average growth rate of most positions. With fewer executive positions to compete for, you'll need to have the right resume, the right image and the right answers for critical interview questions. Get yourself prepared with these suggestions to keep yourself in the game.

Think Like an Executive

The mindset of an executive is different than someone working in operations, says In Power Women. You need to "get out of the weeds" and start thinking strategically about the company. "How can we quickly deliver a customer order?" is a tactical question left to the logistics people in a company. "How can we break into the China marketplace?" is a strategic question. If you've been stuck in the weeds for a long time, you'll need to start thinking differently.

CROWDFUNDING UPDATE SIGNALS INCREASED REVENUE, JOBS, DEAL FLOW

Increase in Sales

Company executives at companies who have concluded successful rewards, equity, or debt campaigns reported that quarterly revenues grew by an average of 24% post crowdfunding, and that doesn't include revenues raised by crowdfunding. Equity-based campaigns were the outlier, coming in at 351% quarterly revenue increase.

Neiss & Best, of Crowdfund Capital Advisors, report that "the funders see themselves as "active investors" rather than passive investors in large, pubic companies and want to be "loyal to the brand" and "act as an extended sales force" with a "vested interest in the success" of their investment."
