Bunchball's VP of Client Services tapped Redfish Technology when the team recently decided to hire a Customer Success Engineer. As the industry leader in gamification, Bunchball works with some of the largest consumer and B2B companies in the world. The company's gamification platform and powerful analytics solutions allow for the creation of customized, actionable and scalable user experiences for consumers, employees and partners. The Customer Success Engineer needed to be an inspired individual who could take the customers' broad, theoretical ideas about how to incorporate gamification into their site or application and turn them into actionable plans. This customer-facing role demanded someone who was both an agile tactician and a strategic thinker, with deep experience in SaaS and Internet/New Media areas.

 

Jon Piggins, Tech Recruiter at Redfish, analyzed the company's requirements and corporate culture and embarked on a search strategy. Jon targeted professionals with a highly technical mind paired with excellent communication skills who had a track record of working well with customers to get to the core needs and solve issues. Arun Wright was recruited because he is exceptionally sharp and well-spoken and has an 8-year track record of making enterprise, web, and mobile software solutions as simple as possible for customers. He has worked in positions of growing responsibility in pre- and post-sales engineering and client services management since graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. He recently completed an MBA with a concentration in Managing Innovation and Technology from Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business which he obtained while working in the mobile and SaaS sectors. Arun is passionate about the integration of mobile technology, and solving the usability issues that arise from their combination for the success of the customer.

First, please understand that green jobs represent a wide variety of career choices and are found in virtually all industries (although not with all employers). Also, there are literally hundreds of occupations (well, about 300) that can lead to green jobs and green careers.

Second, those hundreds of occupations all have their own hiring requirements, including knowledge, skills, abilities, education and training, and experience. Not only that, but employers don't always have the same hiring requirements for jobs within the same occupational classification, so expect that there will be some variation. As a result, there is no green training program or major that prepares you for all the green jobs! You have to look at the hiring requirements at the occupational level, and sometimes at the job level, and then you can identify the training or education you need.

The interview process is the usually final step in a company's selection and vetting process, contingent upon reference and background checks of course.

For candidates this is also the last step typically in the application process. And certainly it is the best opportunity to learn as much as possible about the work environment and company culture, the personalities on the team and the management style, the less tangible aspects that aren't written on the job description or the company website.

Recruiters often ask candidates along the application process to gauge their interest in a specific opportunity. This is something the candidate should be doing throughout the process.


WHAT EMPLOYERS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (ACA) 
 
Under the health care law, many employers must notify their employees about the Health Insurance Marketplace by October 1, 2013. If a company is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act, written notice to employees must be provided informing them:

- About the Health Insurance Marketplace
- That, depending on any coverage the company offers, employees may be able to get lower costs on private insurance in the Marketplace based on their income
- That if employees buy insurance through the Marketplace, they may lose the employer contribution (if any) to their health benefits

On November 17, 2013 Vegas trembled with the pounding feet of a school of Redfish Technology recruiters: Five Redfish participated in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series events. Redfish recruiters rock high tech recruiting nationwide when not engaging in physical challenges.

Coursing down the strip and by the famous sites, the Redfish ran through a city they previously had seen little of in the light of day. Live, local bands serenaded the racers and cheer squads lining the course propelled them toward the finish, where medals, swag, and entertainment awaited the fleet footed fish.

"I rocked Vegas," revealed Leah O'Flynn. Having successfully run the Sun Valley Half Marathon, Leah had set a new goal of running a full marathon in Vegas. "Each time I run, it is the farthest I've ever run in my life. - It's always a new record."

November's Business Floating in the Cloud!

EmployeesRedfish Technology, Nationwide High Tech Recruiters, placed sales professionals and software developers in cloud related sectors in the month of November. With Virtual Testing, Data Sync, Hosting, and SaaS Migration showing the most hiring activity.

According to TechServe Alliance, the national trade association of the IT & Engineering Staffing and Solutions industry, IT employment grew for the 26th consecutive month. In fact, on a year-over-year basis, IT employment grew by 5.53% since October 2012 adding 236,200 IT workers.
