The Vice President of Product Development and Marketing was referred to Redfish Technology by one of our bleeding edge software clients in the Bay area. In pursuit of a sharp and resourceful Marketing Manager, this board game and toy publisher enlisted Redfish for several searches. An established player with a focus on creating entertaining products that encourage social interaction, imagination, and learning, this company has won numerous toy awards from renowned industry experts such as the Toy Industry Association, Parent's Choice, Family Fun Magazine, and Dr. Toy, to name just a few. The company's focus for this role was overall brand development; the ideal candidate needed proven ability to design and execute marketing collateral, train internal sales forces on new products, develop marketing and retail merchandising strategies, define a media strategy, and manage budgets.

April Chu personifies successful brand and product marketing. Her rich experience in consumer packaged goods and MBA education in strategic marketing represent strong baselines out the gate. Her accomplishments in terms of growing social engagement, leading internal teams and external agencies to launch brand positioning and advertising campaigns, and driving incremental revenue were exemplary. April is talented at developing global and national programs, creating collateral, planning promotions, and business analytics. Year-over-year technology company deal volume has fallen, shrinking to 2009 levels. However M&A activity being pushed by private equity buyers taking a more active role in the second half of the year, according to the second quarter PwC report. IT Jobs have increased across sectors for the 24th month in a row.

EY's recently released Cleantech Industry Performance report finds that the number of clean tech pure play companies have grown global despite bankruptcies and consolidation. Despite the challenging environment in which the cleantech industry operates, China and the USA have consolidated their leadership and market capitalization bounced back from last year increasing by 18%, the study finds. Biofuels ranked top in the number of IPOs. Solar raised over 30% of the money.

As top producer this quarter, Executive Recruiter Jon Piggins had the distinction of donating Redfish Technology's 'One for One' program funds to the community organization of his choice, and he has chosen the Sawtooth United Football Club (SUFC). Mr. Piggins presented the check to Sandy Kelly, SUFC President & Treasurer on September 17.

"I want to help kids who may not have been able to play because of the expense," said Mr. Piggins. "And I want to encourage other individuals & local businesses to contribute as well." SUFC has available a limited number of scholarships and this donation will serve to expand that opportunity.

Redfish Technology's September hiring was predominantly Digital Curriculum, Enterprise Software, and Internet Technologies. The primary roles filled included account executives, product managers, data engineers, and java developers.

 

With the hostage crisis created by politicians, the Bureau of Labor Statistics did not issue the Employment Report on Friday as scheduled. The ADP report shows that private sector employment rose by 166,000 jobs in September. The small business category increased the most at 74,000, followed by large business at 64,000. The service-providing sector rose 147,000 and the goods-producing sector by 19,000.
