Michael Davis,
RVP -
Unified Communications
Michael Davis
The Senior VP of this successful Unified Communications company tapped Redfish Technology when he needed a Regional Vice President. A global software and IT services firm specializing in applying Microsoft unified communications, it was critical to our client to find someone with a proven telecommunications background. The company prides itself on its ability to collaboratively help customers achieve optimal results through enhanced business processes across the enterprise and in the contact center. The new RVP had to have a successful track record of managing the overall sales strategies and results of a major geographic area.

Redfish directly recruited this senior-level national and regional sales executive for his solid background building and managing sales team in the UC and contact center space. In Mike Davis' twelve-year career as a vice president-level sales executive he has built, lead, and directed Latin American, National and Regional sales organizations to surpass expectations with five high-tech companies. Mike was Redfish's top pick for the role because his extensive experience, his proven success in consistent quota achievement, and his record of revitalizing underperforming sales teams with both emerging and established businesses and opening new markets to deliver incremental sales and increased market share.

"Working with Joanna Bradley at Redfish Technology made the difference for me in choosing Aspect. She kept the process on pace and kept me informed at all times. Joanna took a very honest approach in the evaluation of the company and how my skillsets would fit with current management.  Based on her guidance I was able to make an informed decision regarding my future. Everyone at Redfish was professional with returned phone calls, meetings held on time and most importantly made me feel they had my best interest at heart." - Michael Davis

Blue Ribbon RESOLVE TO HIRE THE BEST TALENT IN 2012

- Hiring Advice  from the Experts at Redfish Technology

Make every minute of your hiring count, hone in on the process, be rapid in your decision making, and tap your recruiter early on. These are some of the recommended resolutions in order to hire the best talent!

"Identify 6 to 10 traits you're looking for in a candidate and then narrow it down to 4 "must haves".  Whether working with a recruiter or not, be willing to look at the candidates that possess the must haves. Draw up a phone screen questionnaire (this should take a maximum of 15 minutes) that you can use to screen these candidates to determine if they're worth entering into the full interview process. This allows you to not lose potential fits whose resumes aren't a slam dunk.  This is especially helpful in a competitive market." - Rob Reeves

CLEAN TECH TRENDS
Global cleantech to "backtrack" in 2013, predicts consulting & analysis firm Kachan & Co.

Cleantech venture investment expected to decline even further, corporate involvement to increase, and long-term risks coming in solar, wind, electric vehicles and elsewhere, says company

Developments in 2013 will call into question some of cleantech's traditional leading indicators of health, and risks will develop with the sector's stalwart solar, wind and electric vehicle and other markets while others will grow, according to cleantech analysis and consulting firm Kachan & Co.
The company, with offices in San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver, has just published its latest annual set of predictions for the cleantech sector for the year ahead.

Cleantech venture investment to decline - Kachan expects worldwide cleantech venture capital investment in 2013 to decline even further than it did in 2012, never to return to the previous highs it achieved before the financial crisis of 2007-2008. Among the factors cited are departure of many venture investors from the sector because of disappointing returns, poor policy support worldwide and a lag time in the pullback of equity and debt investment.

RECRUITING, STAFFING & EMPLOYMENT NEWS
Stable but Slow, Employees Optimistic Employees

Despite ADP's optimistic report of 215,000 new private sector jobs, the U.S. Department of Labor reported gains of 168,000 in private payrolls, which was slightly higher than analysts' forecasts.

The overall growth in employment including government cutbacks netted an increase of 155,000. November payrolls were revised upward.

The goods-producing sector rebounded by 59,000 in December after a loss of 1,000 in November. Construction jobs also showed gains of 30,000 following a November dip of 10,000. Manufacturing increased 25,000 over a small increase of 5,000 the month before.

The services sector's growth slowed and government jobs decreased by 13,000.

Analysts speculate that overall the labor market improvement may be gaining some traction, especially if uncertainty over the fiscal cliff eases.
