HEALING CIRCLE
You are welcome to attend
the next Healing Circle on Wednesday,
APRIL 13, 2016
FROM 6 - 9 PM
at Asbury Tower,
1701 Ocean Ave. Apt. 23 H
in Asbury Park, NJ.
PLEASE RSVP. Since the space is limited, I will need to know if you are coming. You can do this by e-mail [WASTEVENS@AOL.COM] , phone 732-284-9990, or text.
If I cannot accommodate everyone who wants to come on the date announced, I will offer a second date to those who call.
This is an opportunity to gather with other practitioners and share what is going on, ask questions, and receive support. It is also a time for both meditation and receiving Reiju and, of course, this is all followed by an exchange of Reiki.
Click on the link below for directions and give me a call if you are having any problems. There is a parking lot used by surfers and fisherman as well as others, opposite the front entrance of Asbury Tower, to the left of the boardwalk, which you can use FREE.
There are also parking spaces all around the building which have parking meters.
Also a block down any side street, there is open parking. It is a couple of blocks north of 404 5th Ave. where we use to have it and you can easily see the tall building from there. Feel free to call me if you are having any trouble. The Sunset Ave. Bridge is also closed for repairs to add to the challenge - but detour signs are clearly marked. Just touch the #1 when you come into the main entrance and the security guard will let you in. Take elevator to 23rd floor. TAI CHI EASY CLASS
at Brookdale Community College
New 8 week Class begins April 1, 2016 Fridays 2 pm at the Fitness Center
Tai Chi Easy is carefully developed method and approach to Tai Chi and Qi (Chi) Cultivation that makes it easy, beneficial and fun from the very beginning. The student does not have to devote years to learning the traditional 108 movement form or even the shortened (24,36,42) form to enjoy the calming emotional and health benefits of Tai Chi. Tai Chi can be done sitting, standing, or walking. Movements may be done individually or in combination. Since it is a mind/body integration practice, it can reduce stress, and create a state of relaxation and calm. Come join us. It is safe for people of all ages and levels of fitness as the movements are low impact and place minimal stress on muscles and joints. Bill Stevens is a certified Qigong/Tai Chi teacher from the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi under the supervision of Dr. Roger Jahnke

WE CAN ONLY HEAL OURSELVES
by Frans Stiene
Healing ourselves is something we can only do ourselves, and we need to rediscover this for ourselves. We can be told again and again, but because most of the time we look for healing outside of ourselves, most of the time we find it hard to accept that all we need for healing actually is inside of us already. Healing means to make whole; this in essence is about rediscovering our true self, our inner bright light. Therefore, healing is not about curing. Curing happens when we go to a doctor and the doctor performs an operation to fix a knee problem, for example. Healing goes much deeper, to the essence of our being; it is about our heart-mind.

The Flowing Well of Compassion
by Frans Stiene Often in our normal daily life, we find it very hard to be compassionate to ourselves, let alone others. One of the reasons we find this so hard to do is because our mind, body and energy are like frozen water - frozen with jealousy, fear, worry, anger, ignorance, etc. If a well is frozen, we can not drink from it, let alone share its water with others. To make the well drinkable, we need to melt the frozen water with the heat of our meditation practice and the heat of compassion. Through focused meditation practices and breathing deeply into our belly, we can generate an inner warmth which melts away tension in our body, mind and energy. By showing more compassion to ourselves and others, we start to melt our jealousy, worry, fear, ignorance etc. with the warmth of our compassionate heart.

Today I want to share with you the story of a very special dog named Bailey, who found his way from the mean streets of Taiwan to the world's leading holistic sanctuary for special needs animals. Bailey has inspired me and so many countless others with his courage and gratitude.
It was a heartwrenching diagnosis: "He's paralyzed and incontinent. We might as well put him down." The words of the vet filled the hearts of Bailey's rescuers with sadness. The abandoned Keeshond mix with fur as soft as a rabbit looked up at his rescuers with loving eyes. Could it be possible that this puppy, who somehow survived courageously on his own-even though severely injured-would now, although finally rescued, be euthanized in a vet clinic? READ MORE |
