HEALING CIRCLE
You are welcome to attend
the next Healing Circle on Wednesday,
January 20, 2016
FROM 6 - 9 PM
at Asbury Tower,
1701 Ocean Ave. Apt. 23 H
in Asbury Park, NJ.
PLEASE RSVP. Since the space is limited, I will need to know if you are coming. You can do this by e-mail [WASTEVENS@AOL.COM] , phone 732-284-9990, or text.
If I cannot accommodate everyone who wants to come on the date announced, I will offer a second date to those who call.
This is an opportunity to gather with other practitioners and share what is going on, ask questions, and receive support. It is also a time for both meditation and receiving Reiju and, of course, this is all followed by an exchange of Reiki.
Click on the link below for directions and give me a call if you are having any problems. There is a parking lot used by surfers and fisherman as well as others, opposite the front entrance of Asbury Tower, to the left of the boardwalk, which you can use FREE.
There are also parking spaces all around the building which have parking meters.
Also a block down any side street, there is open parking. It is a couple of blocks north of 404 5th Ave. where we use to have it and you can easily see the tall building from there. Feel free to call me if you are having any trouble. The Sunset Ave. Bridge is also closed for repairs to add to the challenge - but detour signs are clearly marked. Just touch the #1 when you come into the main entrance and the security guard will let you in. Take elevator to 23rd floor. Brookdale Community College Classes begin February 5, 2016 for 8 weeks Fridays 2 pm
Tai Chi Easy is carefully developed method and approach to Tai Chi and Qi (Chi) Cultivation that makes it easy, beneficial and fun from the very beginning. The student does not have to devote years to learning the traditional 108 movement form or even the shortened (24,36,42) form to enjoy the calming emotional and health benefits of Tai Chi. Tai Chi can be done sitting, standing, or walking. Movements may be done individually or in combination. Since it is a mind/body integration practice, it can reduce stress, and create a state of relaxation and calm. Come join us. It is safe for people of all ages and levels of fitness as the movements are low impact and place minimal stress on muscles and joints. Bill Stevens is a certified Qigong/Tai Chi teacher from the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi under the supervision of Dr. Roger Jahnke IIQTC website

SPACIOUS MIND SPACIOUS HEART BY FRANS STIENE
In many spiritual traditions, the essence of the mind-heart is symbolized by space. But why is this? Our true mind-heart is a union with the universe. The universe has no beginning or end and therefore our mind-heart is as spacious as the universe. Space is a great metaphor because nothing sticks to space, we can not hurt space, space can not be damaged, and it can accommodate everything and anything.
When, through daily meditation practice, we start to remember our own spacious mind-heart, we will therefore become more accommodating to everybody. This in turn will increase our compassion. Often we are only compassionate to our family and friends; we are in a way narrow-minded in our mind-heart. And as such, we can not accommodate more people, let alone accommodate animals, trees, you name it.
But through consistent practice, our mind-heart will be so spacious that our compassion includes everything. Everything will become sacred and therefore everything will be treated with respect, kindness, compassion, and love. READ MORE

WORLD ANIMAL REIKI DAY
JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Mark your calendars: World Animal Reiki Day is February 5, 2016! This special day, organized by me and the volunteer members of my Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA), is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to help make a better future for the animals in our world. And what better way to bring people together to honor animals than through peace, healing and compassion?
There are so many ways to celebrate! Here are just a few ideas. You can:
Light a candle to honor your animal teachers. Sit in silent Reiki meditation with your animals. Perform an act of kindness or compassion for your local shelter or sanctuary. Share your special messages and photos on the SARA Facebook page. Tweet messages and pics using the hashtag #WorldAnimalReikiDay.
