HEALING CIRCLE

HEALING FLOWER

               NEXT HEALING CIRCLE
You are welcome to attend the next Healing Circle on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
It is from 6-9 pm.
And will be held at Asbury Tower
1701 Ocean Ave. Apt. 23 H in Asbury Park

This present location is experimental for the next two months and we will assess how it is working and come up with any alternatives in September.

Since the space is limited, I will need to know if you are coming. You can do this by e-mail, phone, or text [my number is 732-284-9990]
If I cannot accommodate everyone who wants to come on the date announced, I will offer a second date to those who called.

This is an opportunity to gather with other practitioners and share what is going on, ask questions, and receive support. It is also a time for both meditation and receiving of an attunement and, of course, this is all followed by an exchange of Reiki. Hope to see you there.

Click on the link below for directions and give me a call if you are having any problems.  There is a parking lot used by surfers and fisherman as well as others, opposite the front entrance of Asbury Tower which you can use.  There are also parking spaces around the building which have parking meters.  Also a couple of blocks down any side street there is open parking.

It is a couple of blocks north of 404  5th Ave. and you can easily see the tall building from there.  Feel free to call me if you are having any trouble.  The Sunset Ave. Bridge is also closed for repairs to add to the challenge -  but detour signs are clearly marked.

Qigong vs. Reiki
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I study for my certification as  a Qigong/Tai Chi teacher and continue to practice both Qigong and Reiki,  I become more convinced that there is little if any difference between Ki and Qi or between Reiki and Qigong except for the way we access this life force energy.
I would like to share with you some quotations from a book written by my teacher, Roger Jahnke, entitled "The Healing Promise of Qi - Creating Extraordinary Wellness Through Qigong and Tai Chi, which I highly recommend to you. See if you can get a sense of what I am getting at.
[continuation from last newsletter]
Take your time getting started with your practice.  If you force yourself to do too much, it will just take the fun out of it.  If you are well and want to remain well, do fifteen minutes of Qigong and Tai Chi each day.  If you are well but want to be supremely well, extend your practice to forty-five minutes to an hour.  If you are experiencing symptoms that you wish to resolve, build up slowly to thirty minutes or more - up to an hour
If you are seriously ill you may need to spread your practice out to sustain your strength.
Try to become aware of when Qigong is enhancing you.  Notice when it becomes important to rest or sleep.  An hour or more of practice is not too much, especially if it is spread out to three or four sessions of fifteen minutes throughout your day.
The Second Promise of Qi:
Every person who uses Qi cultivation methods consistently experiences some form of health improvement and personal access to greater energy and power.
This week's Earth Day in the U.S. got me thinking. Don't we need every day to be Earth Day, and not just in one country, but everywhere on this planet?
Yes, some cultures still live close to the earth and to their spiritual traditions (have you noticed how those two go hand-in-hand?), and have not (yet) lost sight of the interconnectedness of the planet and all that lives here.
And yes, globalization threatens those cultures. Globalization is a powerful commercial, political and social force that isn't being managed wisely.
What if we engaged the powerful trend toward globalization to support the practice of Reiki around the world?
People who practice Reiki regularly notice their worldview starts to gently open. We begin to feel a kinship with the earth, and with all her inhabitants. We realize when we hurt the earth or one another, we hurt ourselves. And that awareness begins to guide our thinking and behavior.
Reiki practice makes us more aware of  that which connects us, the one heart-of-hearts that we all share. More people practicing Reiki means more support for our planet.
Healing Beyond Words - Kathleen Prasad
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.

-Thich Nhat Hanh

Each lifelong relationship between and animal and his person is a unique heart-to-heart dance: elegant, graceful and flowing. To be able to be present with an open heart is a beautiful gift. To be able to support animals and their people-- to hold a meditative space of compassion, peace and love in that moment whatever it looks like--happy, sad, hopeful or uncertain-- this is the true highest calling of the animal Reiki practitioner.

Healing Beyond Language

When I started doing Reiki, I was very interested in animal communication, and it was a big piece of what I wanted to do.  I think you can feel that in my first book, those of you who've read Animal Reiki. A lot of the stories are about the communications I received from the animals. In the beginning, when I was doing treatments with the animals, I was really focusing on messages that I could share with the people. In certain times and situations, I think these messages can be helpful. However, things have changed a lot for me over fifteen years of practice.

I still experience communication in the way of animals teaching me. I want to be open and listening, and there's a beautiful heart connection there. But I feel that Reiki goes even deeper.

The foundation for all my work with the animals is my own personal, meditative, spiritual practice. I find the place that is most healing for myself, is also the place to which animals are most drawn. It is a place without words and without judgments: that deep quiet space where language has no meaning. So now, and what's been my focus for the last eight years or so, I work on letting go: letting go of my mind, of my impressions, of my judgments and of my interpretations. Letting go, letting go, letting go.

You should therefore cease from practice based on intellectual understanding, pursuing words and following after speech, and learn the backward step that turns your light inwardly to illuminate your self.
