Making His Mark

When deciding on which restaurants and organizations to feature in the newsletter, we usually consider several things. We think about how strong of a commitment the establishment has to sustainable business practices. We think about the amount of local food served and how fresh the ingredients are. Sometimes we simply want to thank those restaurants who contribute the most grease to this thriving B100 community. And sometimes....just sometimes....we just want to say...
Chef McIntyre, the food is incredible.
It's local. It's sustainable. It is in their mission to minimize waste while maintaining the freshest ingredients. But forget all that. Go for the food. | | eatatmarket.com |
Go for the latkes. Go for the duck salad. For the stuffed peppers. For the homemade root beer. And please, please go for the pork belly sandwich. The eclectic twist on local and seasonal staples seems like a popular concept. There's a reason for that. It makes sense and its delicious. But don't be fooled. Market is not your average "nouveau-southern-flare" pop up restaurant. It's not pricy. It's not stuffy.
At Market, its all about a fun and relaxing environment. Its about keeping a small, fresh inventory. Market is about food. Really, really good food.
"If ever there were a restaurant where virtually anything you order has the potential to yield a pleasant surprise, Market is it." - Greg Cox, News and Observer |
