FROM THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

"There are three infallible ways of pleasing an author, and the three form a rising scale of compliment: 1, To tell him you have read one of his books; 2, To tell him you have read all of his books; 3, To ask him to let you read the manuscripts of his forthcoming book. No. 1 admits you to his respect; No. 2 admits him to your admiration; No. 3 carries you clear into his heart." - Mark Twain in Pudd'nhead Wilson

Hello, Friends!

If you joined us last July for our Stephen King event or a week or so ago for Garrison Keillor, you probably enjoyed the opportunity to compliment these outstanding authors. On June 7, you'll have the opportunity for another rare author event. Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code, Inferno, and other best-sellers, has graciously agreed to speak at The Bushnell with WNPR's John Dankosky. Proceeds support the Mark Twain House.

The Mark Twain House is the #1 spot for famous author sightings! It's wonderful to know that so many accomplished authors hold Mark Twain in such high esteem. From David Baldacci to Judy Blume to John Grisham, America's best-selling authors have come out to support our cause. Of course, we need your support at these events. I hope you'll take advantage of the opportunity to compliment Dan Brown on June 7. And please find me in the audience and say "hello"!

With thanks for your continued support,

Cindy

The Mark Twain House & Museum has restored the author's Hartford, Connecticut, home, where the author and his family lived from 1874 to 1891. Twain wrote his most important works there, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. In addition to providing tours of Twain's restored home, a National Historic Landmark, the institution offers activities and educational programs that illuminate Twain's literary legacy and provide information about his life and times.
