As a women's group, the SWC recognizes the overwhelming need for support of charities who support families, women, children, and the elderly. We actively support our community and civic groups. It is our goal to make a difference in the community in which we live and work.

Dear New SWC Member,

We hope you are enjoying being a member of SWC!  This email provides some helpful information about SWC to help you get the most out of your experience.

As a new member we realize that you may have a few questions.  To help you get oriented, we have included information about our committees and volunteer opportunities along with the contact information of the committee chairs so that you can follow-up with any questions or interests you may have.

The following information is comprehensive, so we suggest that you save this email in your SWC folder for future reference.
Some Helpful Reminders...

Please remember to sign in at the SWC Website (this is different than registering as a New Member).  After you have signed in the SWC website, you can then fill out your directory profile.  Also please remember to sign up for the SWC Newsletter.

The instructions for logging in the website were sent to you in the initial email you received after registering as a SWC Member.  Logging in the website in not mandatory - it allows you access to privy information such as our Membership Directory.  If you have trouble logging in, you are still registered as a Member and you can still access information about upcoming socials, volunteer opportunities, or luncheons - just not the Membership Directory.

Please note that our Membership Dues are seasonal, not based on when you signed up.  (It's the only way to keep our records organized.)

Attending SWC Luncheons and Socials

SWC aims to provide Luncheons which help our members connect socially as well as gain helpful information through our programs.   We select programs which we hope will educate and inspire and we excited about the programs we have lined up for this year - please try to attend!

Please also try to attend our SWC Socials!  The Socials are another excuse to be with friends, get to know other members, and to have fun!

Volunteer!  Getting Involved:

We need You!  By getting involved you can make a difference in helping SWC directly or with our numerous community outreach and fundraising activities! SWC does so much for our local communities, but we are only as strong as our members, so get involved and help make a difference! :)

The following are a few of the options available:

 Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Committee coordinates service projects, monthly collections for local charities and the annual Senior Center Valentine's Luncheon. The committee will be responsible for setting the goals for Community Outreach for the year, working with local charities to develop community service opportunities for the SWC, choosing charities to benefit from our monthly collections, and of course planning to Senior Center Valentine Luncheon. We will need lots of volunteers throughout the year, so if you have a heart for serving others we would love for you to join us.

Funding

This important committee connects the Southlake Women's Club to the Southlake Women's Club Foundation, our funding entity. Monies raised through the School Supply Sale and Art in the Square are disbursed by SWCF to organizations selected by the funding committee. Members will help review grant applications and assist the chair and SWCF board with other related duties. This is a great way for members to get a good view of how we decide which organizations to support and learn how they will use the money we provide.
