PDS Can Help You Get Ready for Health Benefit Exchanges
Leslie Gold, PDS
The California Health Benefits Exchange will be live on January 1, 2014. According to the state's website, "The vision of the California Health Benefit Exchange is to improve the health of all Californians by assuring their access to affordable, high quality care. The mission of the California Health Benefit Exchange is to increase the number of insured Californians, improve health care quality, lower costs, and reduce health disparities through an innovative, competitive marketplace that empowers consumers to choose the health plan and providers that give them the best value." The health plans are already beginning to negotiate with providers. In order to be selected as an Exchange provider and to be competitive in the marketplace, providers will need to reduce costs wherever they can. They need to develop and maintain a reputable provider network that is attractive to consumers. Can you demonstrate your value? Are you ready? |
