What's the latest in Athletic News?

 

  • Cavalier Kudos to:
    • The Cavalier Boys gained first place at the Region Cross Country Championship. James Quattlebaum came in first individually and set a new course record with a time of 15.51. Coach Rodney Adamee was named Region Coach of the Year and James was named Runner of the Year. Joining James on the All-Region team were CCES teammates Walker Cullen and Worth Gentry.
    • The Cavaliers girls cross country team finished in 5th place. Kendal Kipper finished in 8th place and was named to the All-Region team.
    • CCES football players Drennan Quattlebaum, Demetrius Anthony, Quan White, and Sam Dixon were honored as Players of the Week by the Greenville Touchdown Club today
    • CCES varsity football players Quan White, Luke Posta, Mac McCall and head coach Don Frost were selected as Class A Upper State Palmetto Champions by the South Carolina Football Coaches Association. They will be honored at a banquet to be held in Columbia on December 5th.

  • JV Wrestling practices begin on Tuesday, November 5th, in the Lower School Activities Room.  JV practices are Tues.-Fridays 4:30-6 p.m. Schedules were provided at sign up and are posted online.  Contacts for more information: Head JV coach - Dylan Wajda wajdad@cces.org. Asst. JV Coach - Drew Brown brownd@cces.org .
  • Signups for Varsity Wrestling have now begun.  Please email Mike Frye at mfrye@greenville.k12.sc.us or Dylan Wajda at wajdad@cces.org to sign up. Practices begin November 4th in the Lower School Activities Room - 4:30 p.m.  

  • Tryouts for the CCES boys and girls basketball teams will begin after school on November 4th
    All Middle School boys and girls will practice the first week (Monday-Friday) from 3:15-4:45. All Upper School boys and girls will practice Monday-Friday from 5:00-6:30. In order to participate, students need to have a physical on file with the Director of Athletics that was completed after April 1, 2013. If a student is currently participating on a CCES fall athletic team, that student is expected to stay with that team until the conclusion of their season.
    For questions regarding the boys teams, please contact Coach Beach (beachr@cces.org) and for questions regarding the girls teams, please contact Coach Leopard (leopardt@cces.org).
  • Girls Softball: For any girls in grades 7-12 who are interested in playing for the CCES softball team, you are asked to contact Coach Jennifer Numberger. 
  • Please be advised that 2014 CCES girls tennis tryouts for both Varsity and Junior Varsity will begin on Monday, August 4, 2014. Please do NOT schedule any camps, classes, vacations, or out-of-town trips on or after this date if your child plans to try out for CCES girls tennis.  Please contact coach Sherry Adams (cciadams@aol.com) with any questions.
