Volunteers Share Their College and Career Experience with Alliance Students
Volunteers shared information about their college and career backgrounds with students at
Alliance Susan and Eric Smidt Technology High School.

More than 100 volunteers visited Alliance schools this month to speak to students about their college and career backgrounds. Students at Alliance Marc and Eva Stern Math and Science School and Alliance Susan and Eric Smidt Technology High School had the chance to ask volunteers from a wide range of career backgrounds about their career experience.

"This is such an amazing opportunity for our students," said Priscilla Miranda-Sanchez, College Counselor at Alliance Smidt Tech, "as ninth graders, many of our students only know about a select number of careers that are out there. Events like this open their eyes to the wide range of opportunities that will be available to them once they graduate from college."

Career Day events are developed as a partnership between Alliance schools and the Alliance Young Professionals, a group of philanthropic-minded young people from a wide range of career backgrounds dedicated to improving education for students in Los Angeles.
