"Every time I come it's harder to leave.  I feel like this place is my home away from home!  I always speak highly of this place and do my best to get the word around.  It means a lot to me that everyone on staff treats me as their friend.  The personal touch and getting to come hunt with my friends is what keeps me coming back."

-Jim Palermo
"This trip exceeded our expectations. We felt like we have been here for years. Look forward to seeing you in the years to come."

Summer Newsletter

The 2016 deer season is just around the corner and the Heartland team is gearing up for it. We had a great fall last year and this season looks to be shaping up to be an even better one. Check out  the monster bucks we harvested last year >>

With a mild winter this past year and an early spring, we are experiencing exceptional antler growth. We found some really nice sheds this past spring and are excited to see what these deer will explode into this year with ideal growing conditions. In this issue we discuss what trail cameras the Heartland team relies on for scouting and go through some of our nicest sheds we found this past spring. Also, be sure to check out the Illinois tag deadlines and our open dates for this upcoming season. Believe me, you are going to want to be sitting in a treestand this fall in Pike County!

Heartland's 2016 Shed Season
The 2016 shed season simply put was awesome! Together the Heartland team found well over 100 antlers on our farms. This upcoming season is looking to be one of the best we've had in years. Many good bucks made it through the mild winter we experienced here in West Central Illinois.
Trail Camera Review
Wireless trail cameras may be the best answer for reducing human pressure related to checking and swapping SD cards on standard cameras, the price of the camera and the data plan that goes with it can not be justified when trying to monitor several different farms with multiple cameras.
