Maryann O'Brien Clark
Maryann tells her story: "After graduating from PCHS, my family moved to Clarkston and I attended Pontiac Business Institute for the Executive Secretarial Course for two years. My first job was with the newly started Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity (poverty program) as secretary to the Executive Director. In 1965, I married John Clark who worked at GMC and we lived in Clarkston. In 1967, Stephen was born and I was fortunate to be a stay at home mom for ten years. During that time David and Sally were born. We moved to Leonard to a home on four acres and raised our children there. I returned to work in advertising for wholesale drug supply company and later as office manager for a metal fabrication company near home. Then I settled in at Oakland County Probate Court - Estates Div from which I retired in 2000. John and I have been married for forty-eight years. We now live in Oxford and are glad that our children live in Oxford, Davison and Bloomfield Twp so we can be so involved with the grandchildren: Kate 9, Jack 6 and Jacob 4. We bought a fifth-wheel two years ago and are back into camping mostly due to the grandkids. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion."
Steve tells his story: "Since I graduated from Pontiac Central High School, I received a Bachelor's Degree from Arkansas AM & N College and Master's and Doctorate degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. I completed postdoctoral training in Gerontology from Scripps Gerontology Foundation at Miami University and have taught on a college/university level for forty years, the last thirty-six years at Murray State University in Murray Kentucky. My last ten years at Murray State, I served as Chairperson of the Department of Social Work, Criminal Justice and Gerontology. My principle research on the African American Family includes a number of published articles in edited books and one coauthored book on the artist Ellis Wilson. I have been married 36 years and I have four children and six grandchildren."
Carolyn earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from University of Detroit Mercy. She holds the following licenses: Securities, Variable Annuities, Long-term care and Life Insurance. In her past career Carolyn was a Tax Revenue Agent, VP of Finance and Operations at Catholic Services of Macomb, and Treasurer of Care House of Macomb. She has been Business Manager of Facilities Management of Oakland University since 1995. Carolyn enjoys reading with the several local book clubs and going to the movies with friends. She has stayed in touch with many classmates with whom she meets at least once a year. She stays very busy by running a small financial services business which includes help with taxes, insurances, and securities and is also the chair of the FRCC Scholarship Foundation. Very involved with a senior citizen group, Carolyn loves taking them to various events, games, etc. around the Metropolitan area and says, "They really keep me young because they are so funny and a joy to be with."
Tom McIntyre
Tom left PCHS early to join the Navy where he "spent 7 years, 30 days, 13 hours and approximately 30 minutes". He served two tours of duty in Vietnam in 1965-1966 and 1968-1969 (6 campaigns) and left as a E-6 serving in Naval Intelligence. Tom complete d four years of college in three years with an A.A. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Economics. His long professional career included a variety of technical and management positions with several companies, including Future Trends, Simpson Timber, Bumble Bee Foods, and Alcoa to name a few. He retired at age 64 and is still in good health. Tom was married twice, first for 29 years, giving him a son, daughter and a grandson. "My current second marriage has been for 11 years and we have been together for 15 years. She is a gem for putting up with me. Gotta be careful though for she is 100% born German." They currently live in Mississippi on a private lake. He still loves fishing and has traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and "12 foreign countries...Loved Hong Kong". |
