RSPA Concludes RetailNOW 2014

The Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA), the only industry association for retail technology, concluded its annual tradeshow, educational summit, and membership gathering, RetailNOW 2014, on August 6 in Orlando, FL. The event was held Aug 3-6 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

Based on previous years' feedback, an emphasis was placed on business networking and "deal-making" for attendees, who were, during the three-and-a-half day event, were able to create their own tailored experience by selecting from the extensive show schedule. 178 tradeshow exhibits, 32 educational sessions and over 20 networking events were available for event attendees' engagement. This year, RetailNOW provided a particular emphasis on new developments within the association itself, the event, and the industry.

New Board Elected at RetailNOW 2014
During the annual membership meeting held at RetailNOW 2014, RSPA also ushered in an era of change, as it seated its new Board of Directors. Seven open seats were in contention, and a total of 18 candidates vied for the available seats.

Congratulations to the newest board members:

Hunter Allen, Cervion Systems; Chelsey Paulson, North Country Business Products; Chris Rumpf, Rumpf Computer Solutions; Alejandro Swaby, Metrotouch Solutions; Chris Duffy, Star Micronics America; Mark Fraker, BlueStar; and Peter Storer, Avero.

RSPA Center for Industry Education Platform Changes 2014
Our users have provided their feedback, and we've listened! We're taking some of the downtime between RetailNOW 2014 and INSPIRE 2015 to make platform improvements to the RSPA's learning management system. Currently taking the PCIWise course? You have until 9/30/14 to access your coursework using your current login information. A more user-friendly, easier to access platform is heading our members' way on October 1. The only downside is that you may lose some of the work you've started in August and September, so we suggest you try to finish the course by 9/30.
