The American Legion & City of Elgin will remember lives lost in service 15 years ago on September 11 and will honor those who continue their service. Riffle salute ceremony attendees will include Mayor Kaptain, Elgin Police Chief & Fire Chief.

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra gala opening concerts, with guest violinist Simone Porter performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, set the tone by highlighting Russian composers, who will be featured throughout the upcoming season. Sat, Sept 17, 7:30pm

Fringe Eve kicks off with the second annual blimp raising outside Blue Box Cafe. Then, head over to Martini Room for the Opening Party, featuring short performances by a few Fringe artists. Wear your fringe button, drink a #fringetini, and get your Fringe started!
