Work on the next phase of the streetscape program in the downtown central business district continues the week of April 1. This phase of work will include new curb and gutter, sidewalk and pavement on Spring Street between Division Street and Kimball Street and on Dexter Avenue between Douglas Avenue and Center Street. New trees will be planted, along with installation of brick paver crosswalks. Work on this phase of the program is expected to be completed by mid-September.

Beginning Monday, April 1, the intersection of Spring Street and Symphony Way will be closed so that sanitary and storm sewer manholes in the intersection can be replaced with new manholes. Click to view the detour map on the right. Detour routes will be signed. This work is expected to be completed by April 5 and the intersection re-opened.

Reconstruction work will also be taking place on the west side of south Grove Avenue between Fulton Street and Prairie Street. This will include new sidewalk and curb and gutter, along with the installation of the new paver field at the northwest corner of Grove Avenue and Prairie Street.

The electrical subcontractor will be working on south Grove Avenue and Spring Street replacing the old street light luminaires with new, higher efficiency LED luminaires. Parking in these areas will be restricted in the areas where the electrician is working. These restrictions will move as the work proceeds.
