Mayor's Awards Nominations
City of Elgin 
The Elgin Heritage Commission seeks nominations for the 2013 Elgin Mayor's Awards for historic preservation. Nominations are due Friday, March 1. Forms are available online or at City Hall, 150 Dexter Court.

Downtown Neighborhood AssociationDNA is excited to welcome Don Obenauf as DNA's new Economic Development Director. Obenauf's responsibilities will include recruitment and retention of business tenants in downtown Elgin;  providing guidance to Design and Economic Development volunteer committees, and interfacing with City of Elgin staff and departments. Out to Lunch at Elgin Public House

Our next Out to Lunch takes place Monday, February 25 and will include tours of two historic buildings at 176 E. Chicago & 164 E. Chicago. Tours begin at 11:45 am and are followed by lunch at Elgin Public House, 219 E. Chicago Street in downtown Elgin. For $12 per person (tax & tip included, cash only) guests will enjoy a buffet lunch consisting of some of owner Greg Shannon's favorites.

Downtown Elgin Harvest Market2013 Vendor Applications for the Downtown Elgin Harvest Market are now available online!

 

The 14th season of the Downtown Elgin Harvest Market - Presented by Alexian Brothers Health System begins Thursday, June 6 with brand new hours from 9 am - 2 pm at 200 N. Grove Avenue. The market runs every Thursday thru October 3. Please contact Market Manager Jennifer Benson at 847-488-1456 with any questions.

Princess Ball Daddy Daughter Dance

Reserve your places for the annual Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball, presented by the City of Elgin on Friday, February 15 from 6:30 - 9 pm.
 
This year's theme will be "The Little Mermaid" and includes a buffet, dancing and raffle prizes. The magic happens at The Centre of Elgin's Heritage Ballroom, 100 Symphony Way. Tickets are $30 per resident couple and $8 per additional child. Call 847-531-7000 or REGISTER ONLINE.

The Elgin Art Showcase presents Jeorge Holmes, tenor, and Diva Montell, soprano, in a romantic concert filled with love songs from opera to big band classics.
