RIDE WEST INSURANCE

How long has it been since you checked what you are paying for insurance?

If you're like most people, you simply pay your premiums at renewal time and don't think to check if you're getting the best rate. You might, however, be spending more than you need to.

At Ride West Insurance we work with several providers, so we can offer coverage for your motorcycle, auto, home, RV and more...and often at a very low premium.

Why not let us review your current policy to see if we can help you save some cash?

Happy spring everyone! This month I wanted to give you some more hints and tips for your pre-ride checks. A couple of questions come up around the shop about how the best way to check your brake pads or tire life is. On most BMW's they have made it pretty easy to check your pad life. It varies from bike to bike, but they were designed in a way to be visible and check-able.

This is the same for tires. Tiny wear bars are manufactured into the tire giving a reference point for gauging how much rubber is left. If you still have your owners manual kicking around, it will have the model specific procedure to check your brake pad life or you could swing by the shop and we can show you exactly where to look.

Oil level still seems to be a hot subject as well. Make sure your motorcycle is at running temperature to get the best level reading. If your motorcycle feels a little funny or different on your ride, trust your instinct and get it checked. I recently had a customer swing by on a Saturday saying his motorcycle just felt a little weird today and after a quick inspection, we found that his front wheel bearing had failed. The situation could have been disastrous, but thanks to his decision to have it checked, we replaced a couple bearings and he was off safely.

Keep your wits about you and stay safe.

This month we have some exciting events coming up, not the least is that it's slowly getting warmer. Spring is in the air and that means more riding time for many of us! With that in mind, please join us at the Lynnwood Convention Center for the 2014 Euro Moto show, this weekend. The Ride West BMW parts and sales department crew will be there on Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd at the Ride West BMW booth on Level 2.

In addition to a selection of new BMW motorcycles, the reps from Schuberth North America will be with us displaying their latest helmet designs, SRCs and other accessories. See the renowned C3 Pro modular, C3 Pro modular for women, as well as the S2 and SR1 helmets, in fluorescent and solid colors, and some models now available with graphics. Perhaps it's time to pick up a brand-new helmet for a new riding season! As an added bonus entry is free to the event this year.
