COME RIDE WITH ME!!

 (Click logo for rally info)

Imagine Frank Sinatra singing at the Sands in Vegas with Count Basie's orchestra behind him, and sing along to these fractured classic lyrics!  (To the tune of "Come Fly With Me.")

"Come ride with me, come ride, come ride away

If you can use, some exotic roads, there's a route to far away

Oh it's perfect for a summer rally ride, they do say

Come ride with me, come ride me..... let's ride away!"

ASK MOTOADVENTUREGAL!
Alisa Clickenger - MotoAdventureGal
Dear MotoAdventureGal: I want to try camping on my next motorcycle trip. How do I get started?

MotoAdventureGal Says:
I started camping because it fit my budget. Now I do it because I love it, but let me tell you there was a big learning curve for me, so you get to profit from all my mistakes. First thing, get good gear. Camping just plain stinks if you are cold and uncomfortable, or worse, wet. Spend the few extra bucks to get a good sleeping bag, pad, and tent (and a tarp for underneath). I discovered the Big Agnes brand several years ago and that's what I use, but there are heaps of other great tents out there.

DEMO RIDES EXPLAINED:

Our Sunday Demo Ride series is not copied by any dealership that we know of.  We have 4 or 5 of these a year. All are held on Sundays, when the store is not open.

For each one, riders sign up ahead of time to sample one, two, and possibly three new BMW models on a ride that covers about 90 miles and has stops along the way for participants to swap bikes if desired.

TECH TIP                                                                            MARK EDDY | SERVICE MANAGER
With all the hustle and bustle of summer finally upon us, it can be difficult to stay on top of all the details of day to day, let alone plan ahead. However, planning ahead could make all the difference in whether or not our summer riding is enjoyable.  Making sure our cycles are tuned and won't need tires or brake pads in the middle of nowhere will keep us on the road rather than sitting at some repair facility waiting for an opening (or worse, paying for a long tow, and then doing that).

Check your BMW over thoroughly, or let the shop at Ride West do so, and avoid pitfalls later.  If you find that there is something that needs addressing when you're away from home, it's best to call ahead and give a heads-up to the nearest dealer (before showing up). Prior to leaving on an adventure, pack your cycle and drive around a bit to see if changes need to be made to your set up. The more you think about your trip before you leave, the less you'll have to worry on the road, which will free your mind for enjoying the ride!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR OWNERS:

Ann&Keith2

Someone said, "The  only thing constant is change itself".  And so it goes in our business.

Ride West is one month short of its 18th year in business and we have been fortunate to have, throughout that time, some of the best employees in the industry.  Many of our staff have been with us for well over ten years, but life goes on and occasionally a  staff member leaves our employ for other endeavors.  And so it goes for one of our very valued employees, Mark Eddy, Ride West's service manager.  Mark has been with us since September of 2002.  He joined us as a very experienced motorcycle technician, although he had not worked on BMW's until then.  It did not, however, take him much time to get it mastered.  We remember one incident, early on, when he was doing a rather complicated repair that took several hours to accomplish.  He finished this job in record time.  One of our other experienced technicians came over to us and said that he learned something from watching Mark rebuild that engine.  There were some steps in the process that Mark was able to simplify and soon all of the technicians were incorporating the process into their work.  Mark became very proficient in a very short time and it did not take him long to reach BMW's Master Technician status, which he has held for many years now.
