Let It Go!

"I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do; forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead." Philippians 3:13

It is sooo easy to go through life focused on what didn't work out, who hurt us, or the mistakes we've made. Thinking and pondering on how things could have been rather than making new strides today.

Many tell me I should have finished college, I wish I would had chosen a different profession. I married the wrong person. If only I would have spent more time with my children. If only that company would not have laid me off. Why didn't I take that other job offer? Why oh why didn't I take better care of my health? I should have invested better, saved more, spent less.

As long as you are living in regret, focused on the negative things of the past, it's going to keep you from the brighter future God has in store. You've got to let go of what didn't work out, what you didn't do. Let go of all the hurts and pain and personal assaults from others.

Let go of your disappointments, mistakes and failures. You can't do anything about the past, but you can do something about the present, the here and the now. Whether it happened 30 years ago or 30 days ago let it go, learn your lessons and go forward. If you keep bringing negative baggage from yesterday into today, it will poison the present and stall the future. You may have had an unfair past, but you don't have to have an unfair future. Sure you may have had a rough 1st half in life, but it is now the 3rd or 4th quarter and it's how you finish that really matters. Just ask the thief on the cross, he had a great finish.

So don't let past adversity, past failures, past heartaches and past blunders hold you back and stifle your future--In Him--and your present potential with Christ. You can't go back and change your history. Learn from your past and with Christ Jesus move on to your new future. Life has no rewind button. Begin today, in Christ, to make a brand new end. Leave your past, live in today and lease your future to God.

Say to God right now, "I choose to let go of past mistakes, failures and setbacks. I choose to set my eyes on YOU and move into my new future with YOU! Lord, take my hand and show me how to do all these seemingly impossible things with my hand in Yours!! You are my Empowerment to Let It Go.
