What Are Your Intentions for 2014?

The new year is right around the corner. It's the time of year when we think about our futures and setting goals for the new year. I know we're in that process here at Nortridge.

In addition to our traditional sales growth targets, we're also focused on providing NLS users with a great product by continuing to evolve and change as the marketplace demands. In this issue, we share a recent blog post that emphasizes why it's important to stay flexible. And we also found a great article about planning ahead for 2014.  We hope both inspire you to examine your own intentions and set you on your way to a successful new year.

Another of our goals is to stay connected to NLS users and others in our industry, so we invite you to like us on Facebook, follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter, and join the Nortridge Online Community (for NLS users).  And of course, you're always welcome to contact me any time.

Thank you,

Flexibility: The Difference Between Triumph and Disappointment

by Jeff Possehl

Charles de Gaulle, the famous French statesman and WWII general, said, "You have to be fast on your feet and adaptive, or else a strategy is useless." He's talking about being flexible. The same focus should be placed on business strategy. Strategy requires business leaders to constantly evaluate whether the existing approach is getting them the desired results.

Today's results-oriented environment places pressure on executives to bring successful strategies into the business, and then tasking operations to execute that strategy. If a company is limited in its ability to execute on strategies because of weak internal skill sets or inferior systems, the viability of any business strategy becomes suspect.

Excerpt from: entrepreneur.com

This year is speeding by and 2014 is just around the corner. While many people wait until New Year's to get their personal and professional lives in order and create the change that they know was long overdue, you shouldn't have to. It is, after all, true that delay is the greatest form of denial.

Make changes early so that you're way ahead of the game next year with these five easy steps to prepare for dominating in business:

1. Set action-oriented goals early, not on New Year's Eve.
2. Understand the plan to disrupt your industry.
3. Leverage partnerships.
4. Create immense value for others.
5. Leave your doubts behind.
