Tell us about a great book, and then tell everybody else at our party September 17th, at our first annual GREAT READS FOR KIDS event!
If you are a toddler or a teen, or somewhere in between, we want to hear about your favorite books!

*Come into our stores this by September 10th and write up a recommendation for a book you really enjoyed.

*Join us on September 17th at 2:00p.m., at any of our three stores, and share your pick with other kids (or let us read it if you are shy.)

*Bring the family and your posse. All children's books will be 20% off, and we’ll have lots of recommendations for the adults in your group as well.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS by September 10th. They don't have to be long, and there will be special treats for participants.

    Come stroll Solano

    September 10th
    10am to 5pm
    Solano Avenue

Join us for the yearly closing of the street as locals parade, dance, listen to music, eat and generally enjoy a day in the sun. This year we'll have a booth in front of our store where we'll feature some of our favorite books. We will be sponsoring the appearance of River of Words, a non-profit that educates children about the environment. Their booth will feature children's artwork and poetry from around the world.
    Pegasus Books, 1855 Solano Avenue, (510) 525-6888.

    Banned Books Week

    September 23-30
is the week designated as Banned Books Week, and our windows will feature titles that have been challenged over the years. As you read some of these challenges, please bear in mind that the effort to preserve our First Amendment rights is ongoing.
We are fortunate to have an organization, American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, (ABFFE), which works on our behalf to counter attempts to censor what people may read in this country.
We are collecting contributions this week for ABFFE (Check out the FREADOM box at the counter) and will also donate to them a portion of the proceeds of the week.

Warehouse is located at 1223 Eighth Street, Berkeley, across from Pyramid Brewery
