We are excited to announce two big changes in the 2014 Cookie Program!

Cookies Express is the exciting new format for the 2014 Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas Cookie Program. From the first day of the Cookie Program, January 10, 2014, girls will have packages of cookies in-hand! This means selling, delivering and money collection is done in one easy step! It's easy for Girl Scouts and customers are instantly gratified! Also in 2014, the price of Girl Scout Cookies in Northeast Texas and Texas Oklahoma Plains will increase from $3.50 to $4.00. The cost of running the Cookie Program has increased steadily. Raw materials like sugar and flour, bakery production, and cost of fuel used to transport the cookies have increased over the past few years, yet our council hasn't raised the price per box in some time - six years to be exact! Increasing the price of cookies will allow us to cover the additional costs and invest more in our girls.

Nominate an Outstanding Latina Girl Scout!

El Hispano News, a local Spanish newspaper, wants to routinely feature a Latina Girl Scout in the publication that has made a difference in her community or who embodies the Girl Scout mission. If you'd like to nominate a Latina Girl Scout, please send their name, troop number, and a brief description to jyepez@gsnetx.org. It's preferable that they speak Spanish, however if not we can translate their story for them.
