We are back from the BLADE Show in Atlanta. We had a great time and a great show! It was so cool to see so many of you there! We also were able to catch up with a lot of old friends and make lots of new ones. We even debuted a new knife line at The BLADE Show!

Justin and L.T. with the Gary Wines Bushcraft Knives.

More on those knives later on in the email. Back to the show! It was so great to see so many familiar faces!

We also got to meet some new people, like Chris Tanner from PreparedMind101. Chris has been testing and reviewing some of our knives on YouTube. We were so excited to meet him and to let him check out some of our newest knives at the show. Of course we had to talk about the Jessmuk too!

Gary Wines Bushcrafter

Gary Wines first started producing knives that were designed for military and Special Forces use. Through this, he became well known in the field. His knives have been used in many theaters of conflict including Iraq and Afghanistan.
Gary served as an armorer with 21 Special Air Service Regiment at Duke of York's Chelsea HQ Squadron. He is a member of both the UK SAS association and the Australian SAS association. SAS stands for Special Air Service. The British SAS has served as a model for special forces around the world. The unit has many duties including counter-terrorism, covert reconnaissance, direct action, and human intelligence gathering. The selection process for the SAS is one of the toughest in any military worldwide and the vast majority of candidates fail it. Only the best of the best are accepted.

Gary gleaned inspiration from knives used by special operations executives and British commandos in World War II. He has worked with experts in the field to develop a range of tactical and general-purpose knives specifically for military use.
Recently, he has been working on a range of knives for civilian use, specifically bushcraft, survival, and hunting knives. Gary used all of his accumulated knowledge to create knives for the outdoors. That brings us here to LTWK. Gary has designed a knife that we will make here in the shop and that will be available in the U.S. We are very excited for this opportunity to bring his designs here and make them available in the United States.

Specifications
Overall Length: 8 7/8 inches
Sharpened Edge: 4 1/8 inches
Steel: 5/32 inch 01 Tool Steel
Grind: Scandi
Handle: Green Resiten
Sheath:
Drop Dangler w/d-ring & fire steel loop

The Gary Wines Bushcraft knife will be a great companion on your next outing.  With its Scandi grind, it's plenty sharp for all of your bushcrafting needs.  These are ground to zero then we put a hard buff on the very edge to help with edge rolling and durability.  Another great feature is the sharpened spine.  Any time you can save the blade and use the spine for chores is a plus.  We sharpen it up like an ice skate, this will allow you to strike a fire steel or scrape down a branch to make a tinder bundle with ease.  And as you're scraping, you'll no doubt have a good grip on the knife with the bead blasted Micarta scales.

These are attached to the O1 tool steel not only with a mechanical attachment but, we use a marine grade epoxy to ensure no moisture gets behind the scales.

The Gary Wines knives also come with a very durable handmade leather sheath. The JRE Industries sheath uses 8oz. vegetable tanned leather, a double stitch line, and three eyelets. He also incorporates a fire steel loop in the design for us, which will hold your 3/8 inch fire steel. The eyelets allow you to attach extra gear as well. A sealed pill vial works great as a tinder stash and will clip onto the sheath easily.
