WELCOME!


Welcome to the Windsor Cancer Research Group's inaugural newsletter "The Bridge" connecting research and hope. We personally invite you to join us as we introduce you to our group and share with you our vision for the community. Through our newsletters we wish to keep you informed about our developments and to stay connected to you and our community.

 

If you haven't already met us, The Windsor Cancer Research Group (WCRG) is an assembly of local researchers, clinicians and community partners working together to build teams to strengthen our local cancer research programs and bridge collaborations with our neighbouring cancer centres. WCRG strongly believes that research builds the foundation of knowledge that we depend on to diagnose, treat and cure cancer. As teams we are already working together in some specific areas of research such as breast, prostate, blood and brain cancer and in innovative clinical trials and psych-social cancer research. In addition, we have begun to build cross-border initiatives to advance our international partnerships, which can have a significant impact on cancer care in the Region...Read messages from the WCRG co-directors

WCRG LAUNCH
  
The WCRG was officially formed in 2012 with the appointment of our co-directors: Scientific Director, Dr. Lisa Porter from the University of Windsor, and Clinical Director, Dr. Caroline Hamm  from Windsor Regional Hospital. The group hosted their official public launch on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Caesars Windsor with over 100 guests in attendance . Read more

RESEARCH CONFERENCE

 

Our launch was followed by our first biennial research conference "Bridging Research and Hope"
on Saturday, November 17, 2012. The conference was attended by over 150 research scientists, clinicians, nurses, administrators and students who came together from our local and neighbouring communities such as London, Toronto and Michigan...Read More
