Water Testing for Lead
As you know, there have been concerns about lead in water at area schools. We are pleased to report that the water at Resurrection College Prep High School has been tested and there was no evidence of elevated lead levels in our school's water supply.
Midterm Grades
Midterm grades will be posted on Parent Connect the afternoon of Monday, October 17, 2016. Midterm grades can be found under the "Report Card Grades" tab on Parent Connect.
Families with Special Needs Scholarship
Applications for the Families with Special Needs Scholarship are due by Monday, October 17. The scholarship was established by Dr. Maureen Mascha '73 and awards a $1000 scholarship to a current freshman, sophomore, junior or senior who has a family member who has a mental or physical disability that significantly detracts from family income.
Students taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 will be dismissed from school immediately following the exam (around 11:00 am). If a student needs to wait for a ride, she has the choice of either going to her 5th period class or going to the library for a silent study.
Athletic Boosters Buona Beef Fundraiser
The Resurrection Athletic Boosters is sponsoring a Buona Beef Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm. This is an early dismissal day and students will be dismissed at 11:50 am. Grab some lunch and support Res!
Parents Club Dino's Fundraiser
The Resurrection Parents Club is sponsoring a Dino's Fundraiser Event on Thursday, October 20 from 11 am to midnight. Dino's will donate 20% of total sales from Resurrection families back to Resurrection. Dine-in, carryout or delivery is available from Dino's Pizza at 7004 W. Food Drive - "Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat"
Help Feed the Need! Students are encouraged to bring in nonperishable food items for the Resurrection food drive hosted by the Resurrection International Thespian Troupe, along with members of the Drama Club. They are collecting nonperishable food items as part of a national effort by the International Thespian Society to raise help for and awareness of hunger in local communities. Items will be collected through Friday, October 21.
Fall Wine Glass Painting Party
Parents, alumnae and friends (ages 21+) are invited to Goblets & Goblins: An Autumn Wine Glass Painting Party on Friday, October 21 at Resurrection. Reservations are $35 per person and include a wine glass to paint, all materials, and group instruction from Resurrection Art Teacher Jen Salerno. A cash bar will be available and participants are welcome to bring their own snacks. Doors will open at 6 pm, painting will be from 7 pm to 9 pm and the bar will close at 10 pm. Open Houses
Open Houses for prospective students and families will be Thursday, October 27 from 6 to 8 pm and Sunday, November 6 from 2 to 4 pm. All Student Ambassadors should plan to attend both Open Houses. Help us spread the word and let your neighbors and friends know about the opportunities for their daughters here at Res!
Mary's Garden Retreat
All invited to participate in a retreat entitled "A Walk Through Mary's Garden" on Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The morning will include prayer, reflection, Mass and lunch. The retreat will be led by Sr. Donna Marie Wolowicki, C.R. and held at the Sisters of the Resurrection Convent. The cost is $35 per person ($20 of each registration goes toward the Sr. Mary Monica Hope Scholarship Fund). Parents Club Socials
The Resurrection Parents Club is hosting two upcoming events for parents to get to know each other. The Freshmen & Sophomore Parent Social will be Friday, October 28 and the Junior & Senior Parent Social will be Friday, November 11. Both events will take place at Nonno Pino's in Edison Park and will begin at 7:30 pm. Reservations are now available for $16 per person, which includes pizza, pasta, salad, soda and coffee. A cash bar will be available.
Remembrances for All Saints/All Souls Day Mass
The Resurrection school community will celebrate an All Saints/All Souls Day Mass on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Resurrection families are invited to submit the names of deceased loved ones who you would like to be remembered at the Mass. Names can be submitted here.
Fall Athletic Banquet
The Fall Athletic Banquet will be held on Thursday, November 3 - reservations are due by October 25. Details available here. Lacrosse And Soccer Will Be Sharing One Field This Spring
The lacrosse team and soccer team will both have home games this year on the lacrosse field. Our soccer field will not be 6sable this spring due to a drainage issue that needs to be fixed. Home soccer and lacrosse games have been scheduled on different days to accommodate both teams. The lacrosse team will have the lacrosse field to practice on with the exception of home soccer games. The soccer team will practice on the field by the Sisters of the Resurrection Convent.
Positive Coaching Alliance Parent Seminar
Resurrection Athletics partners with the Positive Coaching Alliance. There will be a Parent Seminar on November 1 in the Library from 6:30 - 7:00 pm with questions to follow. Come out and enjoy a night with other Resurrection parents learning how you can help your daughter be the best student-athlete she can be.
Winter Sports Pre-season Parent Meetings
Basketball will have their mandatory pre-season parent meeting on Monday, November 7 at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. The Bowling parent meeting will be on Monday, November 21 at 6:00 pm at Habetler Bowl.
