Course participants will explore questions such as: How has the Office of the Presidency shaped the people who have occupied it? How have the Presidents themselves redefined the Office? What historical events and what type of character help to make what history has measured as a "great" president and what can we learn about the direction of race relations in our country with the twice-elected first bi-racial president?
