Congratulations Class of 2016
The Resurrection Class of 2016 will celebrate their Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Holy Name Cathedral. The graduates were honored by the school community at an all-school Graduation Assembly on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
Special congratulations to Valedictorian Abbey Rosenquist & Salutatorian Grace Torres (pictured above) and to all of the Class of 2016 Class Officers, award recipients and graduation speakers.
Blessings to all of our graduates as they leave Resurrection to go out to make a difference in the world!

Fall Athletic Tryouts
Tryouts for Fall Athletics, including Cross Country, Golf, Swim, Tennis, and Volleyball will be held the week of August 10, 2016. A Fall Parent Athletics meeting will be held on August 23, 2016.
Online registration will be available on July 1 and must be completed by a parent before tryouts, and a current physical must be on file in the athletic office.

ResPunzel Success
The annual ResPunzel hair donation project had 126 participants on Monday, May 23, 2016, including students, staff and friends of Res. Each participant donated 8 or more inches of hair that will be used by the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program to make wigs for cancer patients.

C-SPAN Award to Nina Stuckel
Congratulations to Nina Stuckel '16 who received an award from C-SPAN for her documentary video, "Higher Education in the U.S.: 'A Debt Sentence.'" Her video was one of over 2,800 film submissions from over 45 different states and was the only award winning documentary in Illinois and one of only 150 winners nationwide. Nina was also selected by the Comcast Foundation as a 2016-2017 Comcast Leaders and Achievers� Scholarship Program recipient in recognition of her involvement and leadership in school and community activities.

"Res Reads" Selection
The Res Reads Club has selected We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie for the library-sponsored all-school read this year. While not required, all students are encouraged to read this over the summer so they can participate in related activities during the school year.
Check out this NPR article about a program in Sweden that gave a copy of this book to every 16 year-old student. Also, check out the author's Ted Talk on which this book is based. Information about Resurrection programs related to the book will be announced in the fall.

Summer Travel Opportunity
Historic Boston - July 16 to 18, 2016
Alumnae, parents and community members are welcome to join Mr. Mike Longo in a summer enrichment trip to Historic Boston from Saturday, July 16 to Monday, July 18, 2016. Spain, France, Italy - Via Aurelia
Summer 2017
Resurrection College Prep High School will be offering an educational trip to Spain, France, and Italy from June 26 to July 5, 2017 which is open to Class of 2018 and 2019 students of Resurrection College Prep. The trip will be coordinated with ACIS Educational Travel and will be led by Resurrection Social Studies teacher Ms. Maria Fumic and Ms. Amanda Stieber.
The registration deadline has been extended to July 1, 2016.
