Faith, Family and Football Assembly

Our all-school assembly on Monday, March 7 will feature guest speaker Patrick McCaskey who will speak on the topic of "Faith, Family & Football."  Pat McCaskey is a board member of the Chicago Bears, the senior director of special projects and the son of Virginia McCaskey, owner of the Chicago Bears. Pat McCaskey is a Notre Dame High School Wall of Famer for football and track and has a master's degree from DePaul University Chicago.  He is a speaker known for his moving and humorous presentations on sports, community, and faith.  See Sr. Donna's blog post for more information.

To get in the spirit of the day, Resurrection will be hosting a "Bears Apparel and/or Colors Day" on March 7.  Students and staff may choose to donate $2 in order to wear "Bears Apparel or Colors" (dark navy and orange) and the funds collected will be donated to one of Pat McCaskey's favorite charities.

Self Defense Workshop at March Parents Club Meeting
- Students Encouraged to Attend! Mark your calendar - Tuesday, March 8 at 7 pm

The evening presentation will be conducted by Self Defense Coach Ed Kress who will offer a combination of lecture, role play, and some very basic physical self-defense training.  The focus will be to help students improve their personal and situational awareness and teach them how to identify and avoid potentially dangerous people, places and situations at school, home, work and on the street. The evening will include an interactive "give and take" with students, involving them in the presentation to model various street and campus situations which they are likely to encounter. All parents and their daughters are welcome.

Parents Club Hosting "Cookie Walk" at the Spring Arts and Crafts Fair

The Parents Club is adding a new enhancement to the Spring Arts and Crafts Fair -- A Cookie Walk!  Customers will be able to buy a box and fill it with a variety of cookies.  In order for this to be a success, we need the help of all of our families and students to bake.  Each level has been assigned a different type of cookie:

Freshmen - Cut out cookies/Sugar Cookies i.e. Flowers, Smiley faces or other fun shapes
Sophomores - anything BUT chocolate!  i.e. Jam Cookies, Lemon, Peanut Butter, Snickerdoodles
Juniors - Bars, Brownies, Snickerdoodles, Oatmeal, Kolackys
Seniors - Any time of Chocolate ie chips, Hershey Kiss, Cocoa

They are asking that each student bake at least two dozen cookies and drop them off anytime between Thursday, March 10th and Saturday March 12th by 10 am in the main office.  Please indicate students name, grade level and type of cookie on the package.  Happy Baking!
