Res Reminders - Week of October 18, 2015
Open Houses
Thursday, October 29 from 6:30- 8:30 pm and Sunday, November 8 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Please help us spread the word and encourage friends and neighbors to attend with their daughters.
Thank you to all of our Students Ambassadors, NHS members, Fine Arts students, parents and other volunteers who help us showing off all the wonderful things going on at Resurrection at our Open Houses! Volunteers, please arrive no later than 5:45 pm on Thursday, October 29.
Entrance Changes begin Monday, October 26
The recent outbreak of school violence has prompted us to review our security policies. The following changes will be made to ensure that our campus remains safe for students and staff.
Door 8 will be the only entrance open for student use in the mornings beginning Monday, October 26. Door 3 by the Little Theatre will no longer be open for student arrival.
Door 8 is located on the northwest side of the building, to the left of the gym.
The Main Office entrance, Door 1, is for visitor use only. This door will always be locked, and persons wishing to enter the school will be asked to provide their name and the purpose for their visit.
Food Drive - "Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat" - Food Collection THIS WEEK
Help Feed the Need! Resurrection's annual food drive is now on! The International Thespian Troupe, along with members of the Drama Club, will be collecting nonperishable food items as part of a national effort by the International Thespian Society to raise help for and awareness of hunger in local communities.
Each student is encouraged to bring in five non-perishable food items to their Religious class. The collection will run until Friday, October 30. All items collected will be donated to the New Hope Community Food Pantry in Norwood Park. The class level that collects the most food will receive an out-of-uniform day. Please donate non-perishable food items NOW!
Parents Clubs - Noodles Fundraiser & Affy Tapple Sale
The Parents Club Noodles & Company Fundraiser will be Wednesday, October 28 from noon to 10 pm at the 510 W. Touhy in Park Ridge. 25% of sales will benefit Resurrection College Prep. The Parents Club will be hosting an Affy Tapple Sale on October 26, 27 and 29 during the lunch periods. Affy Tapples will be available for purchase for $1.50 each.
Fall Fundraiser "Old School" Arcade Party - Thank you! Thank you to everyone who came out in support of our fall fundraiser, the "Old School" Arcade Party, on Saturday, October 24. Watch for photos on our Facebook site!
School Liturgy & Cash Raffle Drawing
On Monday, November 2 an all school liturgy well be celebrated in honor of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day to remember the beloved dead of our school community, including alumnae, parents, grandparents, other relatives and friends. Please submit the names of family and friends to be remembered during the liturgy. SUBMIT NAMES HERE
The next Cash Raffle drawing will be Monday, November 2 at the All Soul's Day Liturgy. Send you your sold ticket stubs and payment to be entered into the drawing. The final drawing will be held on December 8 and all tickets must be returned by December 7. The sooner you enter, the more chances you have to win!
Bandit Athletics
VOTE for Res tennis team members Analisa Martorano and Meredith Nowotarski in the 8to18/Buffalo Wild Wings Athlete of the Month competition! Congratulations to Analisa and Meredith who took 2nd place at the GCAC Tennis Conference Meet in Doubles Tennis and for earning All Conference Awards. VOTE HERE!
The Fall Athletic Banquet will be held on Wednesday, November 18 (please note the new date). Watch for details.
Manna Gift Card Program
You can support Resurrection College Prep High School when you purchase gift cards through the
Resurrection Manna Gift Card Program. Resurrection earns a percentage of the face value of each gift card purchased through the program.
Proceeds will be used to support the Sr. Mary Monica Hope Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to Resurrection students and their families. Gift cards are available for Starbucks, iTunes, Target, Panera, Barnes & Noble, grocery stores, department stores, movie and entertainment venues, and many, many restaurants and stores. See a complete list of gift cards available & order cards by Fridays for delivery the following Wednesday.
Italy - Panorama Italiano - TRIP UPDATE
Resurrection College Prep High School will be offering an educational trip to Italy from June 13-22, 2016 which is open to Resurrection College Prep students from the Classes of 2017 and 2018. The trip will be coordinated with ACIS Educational Travel and will be led by Resurrection teachers Ms. Maria Fumic and Ms. Amanda Stieber.
The trip is designed to allow students to explore the rich history of Italy. Panorama Italiano is the most comprehensive tour of Italy where students will visit and explore cities such as Venice, Florence, Sorrento, Capri and Rome. Also, the students will experience many hands-on activities and excursions that will fully immerse them into Italy's culture.
There are a few spots still available for this amazing opportunity to experience Italy! Please click on the link for all details and costs.
The final deadline is Friday, October 30, 2015.

Donate Used Athletic Equipment
Resurrection is accepting donations of gently used athletic uniforms, helmets, and cleats as well as all kinds of athletic equipment (baseballs, basketballs, soccer balls, bats and mitts). No-longer-used equipment or outgrown gear will be donated to help children in desolate and devastated areas such as Haiti and South Sudan. A bin is available outside the Resurrection gym until October 30.
