Students are reminded to be in uniform, including ID and lanyard. New IDs will be issued, but please wear last year's ID.

Senior Parent Meeting - at 6 pm
Senior parents are strongly encouraged to attend.  
 
Back to School Night - at 6:45 pm
All parents have the opportunity to walk through their daughter's schedule, meet teachers and administrators.

Construction Update
 
The intersection of Oriole and Talcott is now open to traffic on Oriole and Talcott is open east of Oriole.  Talcott from Oriole to Canfield continues to be closed to through traffic due to sewer upgrades being conducted by the City of Chicago.  View map.
 
Important:  
Until Monday, August 17 -  Due to construction on the Resurrection parking lots, the school's parking lots are closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  

Please note: some meeting locations have been moved to the Sisters of the Resurrection convent at 7432 W. Talcott during the week of August 10.  Limited parking is available at the convent.

Students - Training for Freshman Mentors will be held on Wednesday, August 12 from 10 am to 2:20 pm 
in the Sr. Anne room of the convent.  Students attending Volleyball tryouts on Wednesday, August 12 please note the special instructions about parking, drop-off and pick-up at the convent.

 

We apologize for the inconvenience, but are looking forward to our beautiful campus once the projects are complete.  


Beginning Monday, August 17 -

Access to the school: 
 

Students, parents and visitors should enter the school by the Student Entrance/Temporary Main Entrance/Door # 8 located between the gym and the loading dock off the back parking lot. 
 

Access to the school from the Talcott will continue to be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until construction on the front parking and internal roadways in early September.  All access will be via Oriole.
 

The back parking lot will be open and limited parking will be available. 
Additional details will be sent out and will be available at www.reshs.org before Monday, August 17.
 

Please note that the gate on Everell allowing access to the school parking lot is unavailable. 
 

All student foot traffic is to use the sidewalk on Oriole to access the sidewalk that leads onto school property.
 

The students who ride the CTA bus will need to walk down Oriole to the sidewalk just before the entrance drive in order to come onto the property. #88 Higgins bus re-routing information.

Principal's Letter & President's Update

Take a few moments to read Principal Maria Hawk's August 2015 letter to parents and students with information about our expanded academic programs, the Mother Celine Scholars Program and the Rankin Academic Support Program, new faculty, the new Innovation Lab, dates for Parent/Teacher Conferences, the updated uniform policies, the updated bell schedule and key dates for upcoming events. 

Also, read Sr. Donna Marie's letter with news about our Campus upgrades and construction, a school nurse who will be available on campus, our new Campus Minister and other exciting information. 

 

Lastly, if you have not had an opportunity to read the Capital Improvements Updates from Sr. Donna, please take a few moments to view the photos and read the updates about the projects that are currently heading toward completion.

"Res Reads" Selection  
 
The Res Reads 2015 committee selected the graphic novel March by Congressman John Lewis.  Watch the book trailer.

All members of the school community are
encouraged to read this selection over the summer and discussions and events will be planned for the 2015-16 school year.  
 
   

Upcoming Parent Meetings

 

In addition to the August 27 sessions at Back to School Night, there are many opportunities for parents to get involved at Resurrection.  See below for upcoming dates and times.   
 

Fall Athletics Parent Meeting -  Thurs, August 20 at 6 pm
Team locations TBD - watch for details. 

All student-athletes playing a Fall Sport at Resurrection and at least one parent are required to attend to receive information, meet the coaching staff as well as other athletes and parents.
 
Parents Club Meeting - Tues,  Sept 8 at 7 pm in the Library
All parents (especially parents of freshmen!) are welcome to attend.


Men's Club Meeting
 - Tues, Sept 15 at 7 pm in the Cafe

All men - fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles and others - are welcome to attend.

Resurrection's annual College Night will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 7 pm.

The Power of the Pen: American Literature and History
Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm

September 15 & 29 and October 13 & 27

at Resurrection College Prep High School
 


Join Resurrection Religious Studies teacher and Chamber Ensemble director Mr. Mike Longo in the upcoming adult enrichment course.  Participants will will explore the period from the late 19th Century through the early 20th Century by reading authors such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, Herman Melville, Edith Wharton and Mark Twain.

The cost is $50 and all community members are welcome.  Registration and details about adult enrichment courses and
