Back to school is approaching quickly.  Please take a few moments to read Resurrection Principal Maria Hawk's letter to parents and students.

Senior parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

Sponsored by the Resurrection Parents Club, freshmen parents can obtain information about getting involved and staying informed.  


Back to School Night
- at 6:45 pm

 

All parents have the opportunity to walk through their daughter's schedule, meet teachers, advisors and administrators.

 English Department Summer Required Reading

 

Students - have you completed your required summer reading assignment? Selections and instructions regarding the summer reading assignment for each class are available here.

The "Res Reads" (formerly One Book, One School) selection committee has chosen Chinese Cinderella: The Secret Story of an Unwanted Daughter for our library sponsored summer read this year.  The "Res Reads" selection is optional, but we encourage all students to read Chinese Cinderella over the summer break, and participate in activities and contests during the 2014-15 school year!  

 

 

   

Required 2014-15 Forms 

 

Parents - have you submitted all of the required forms for the 2014-15 school year?   

 

Medical & Emergency Forms 

 

Medical Forms for incoming freshmen and Emergency Forms for all current students are past due.  Updated Emergency Forms are required each year and must be submitted for the safety of all students. Please remember that your daughter will not be allowed to attend classes if medical or emergency forms have not been submitted.

 
If you have not submitted these forms, please mail them or drop them off at the Main Office as soon as possible.   Office hours are Monday - Friday 7:15 am to 3:15 pm.

 

Tuition Assistance Volunteer Forms 

 

Tuition Assistance families must return the Tuition Assistance Service Obligation Form to the Main Office as soon as possible.  This is a MANDATORY SERVICE obligation in order for your family to receive tuition assistance.   

 
   

Fall Athletic Tryouts
 

Tryouts for Fall Athletics, including Cross Country, Golf, Swim, Tennis, and Volleyball will be the week of August 13, 2014. 

 

Online registration is now available.

IHSA Pre-participation Exam form   

All athletes who wish to try-out MUST complete online registration and submit a current athletic physical before they
are eligible to participate.  Student athletes MUST complete
 BOTH steps in order to participate in try-outs.

Liturgical Minister Training 
Saturday, August 16, 2014
 

Any students who would like to participate as a Lector or Eucharist Minister at school liturgies for the 2014-15 school year are invited to register for training that will be held on Saturday, August 16 in the Resurrection Lecture Hall.  Prospective Eucharist Ministers (age 16 by Oct 1, 2014) will receive training from 8:30 to noon and prospective Lector training (no age requirement) will be from 12:30 to 3:30 pm.  Lunch will be provided to all participants at noon. 

Space is limited and students must register online by Monday, August 11 and applications will be prioritized in the order which they are received.  Questions may be directed to Mr. Brad Mulick at bmulick@reshs.org.
 
 
 
   

 

Volunteer Opportunities 

Students can check out volunteer opportunities, including representing Resurrection at Edison Park Fest on August 16. 

Also, Edison Park Fest is in need of parent volunteers to help with their Parent Patrol on Friday, August 15th and Saturday, August 16th from 6 - 10 pm.  Parents can sign up at www.edisonpark.com/volunteer.

Other service opportunities for students are also available for the New Hope Food Pantry, Misericordia and other area organizations.
 
   

Upcoming Parent Meetings

 

In addition to the August 27th parent sessions at Back to School Night, there are many opportunities for parents to get involved at Resurrection.  See below for upcoming dates and times.   

Parents Club Meeting - Tues, Sept 9 at 7 pm

All parents (especially parents of freshmen!) are welcome to attend.

 

Athletic Boosters Meeting - Thurs, Sept 11 at 7 pm
All parents and athletic supporters are welcome to attend.


Men's Club Meeting - Tues, Sept 16 at 7 pm

All men - fathers, step-fathers, grand-fathers, uncles and others - are welcome to attend.

 
   

 

College Night at Resurrection

  
Resurrection's annual College Night will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 7-:00 - 8:30 pm.  Juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend with their parents.

Grandparent's Day Dinner

Wednesday, September 17

6:00 pm at Resurrection

  

Resurrection students are invited to celebrate Grandparent's Day with their grandparents or other special people in their lives.

Dinner, entertainment, photographs and a memorable time for grandparents to spend time with their granddaughter.  Tickets are $16 per adult and $14 per student.


 Invitations will be mailed to grandparents in August.  Please be sure we have a current mailing address for any grandparents you would like to have mailed an invitation.  Send any grandparent address updates to mgolembiewski@reshs.org
