Ladies Day Mass & Brunch Celebrated
Chicago's Special Women
The Resurrection Men's Club hosted the Ladies Day Mass & Brunch on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Resurrection. The Men's Club presented Sr. Donna Marie with a check for $1500 for the school, and approximately 70 people enjoyed brunch catered by Beau Jolie Victoria. Thank you to everyone who helped created a lovely event!
 Congratulations to the student winners of the essay contest about a famous Chicago women: 1st place winner Nicole Arnold '16 (pictured at left) and 2nd place winner Natalie Chin '14.

Vice-Principal Selection Announced
Resurrection President Sr. Donna Marie Wolowicki, on behalf of herself and newly appointed Principal Maria Hawk, has announced the appointment of Margaret A. Kinel as Resurrection Associate Principal beginning in late June 2014. Ms. Kinel is a Resurrection alumna from the Class of 1992. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching English from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia University.
Ms. Kinel has been teaching Junior High Language Arts at Pennoyer in Norridge for the past fourteen years. In addition to her teaching responsibilities Ms. Kinel also serves on the Teacher Evaluation and Mentoring Committees, the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports Committee and provides supervision of student teachers.
Ms. Kinel is also active in her parish, Saint Eugene, where she currently serves as the President of the School's Advisory Committee and as a member of the Technology Committee. We look forward to welcoming Ms. Margaret Kinel this summer, along with newly appointed Principal Ms. Maria Hawk.

Honor Society Inductions
At Resurrection College Prep High School's annual honor society inductions on Thursday, May 1, 2014 students will be inducted into twelve honor societies and current honor society members will be acknowledged, including members of the following:
National Honor Society (137 students); Diakonia (Service) Honor Society (84 students); International Thespian Society (18 students); Modern Music Masters (Tri-M) Honor Society (41 students); Mu Alpha Theta/Math Honor Society (34 students); National Art Honor Society (17 students);
Italian Honor Society (12 students); French Honor Society (3 students); Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica/Spanish Honor Society (9 students); National Junior Classical League Latin Honor Society (1 student); Quill & Scroll International Honor Society (13 students) and Science National Honor Society (53 students).

England/France trip information
Resurrection College Prep High School will be offering an educational trip to England and France from June 15-24, 2015 which is open to Resurrection College Prep students from the Classes of 2016 and 2017. The trip will be coordinated with ACIS Educational Travel and will be the group leader will be Resurrection English Department Chair Ms. Noreen Maluchnik.

Hair donations of 8 inches or more are welcome - no colored or chemically treated hair may be accepted.

Follett Book Buyback & Book Return

Books have the most value when they will be used again next year at our school or at schools across the country. This is the best time of year to sell textbooks because demand is highest.
Reminder: any books rented from the Follett bookstore are due by June 20, 2014. You can check in these books in-person at the buyback event, or click here for instructions to return the book by mail.
